We arrived from Rome and were greeted by Peter and Aziz at the front door. They immediately made us feel at home and showed us to our suite. The Grand Sahara is impeccably furnished and is even better than it looks on the internet. When we made the booking, we had indicated what flowers we preferred, and those flowers were in the room. As our luggage did not arrive with us (avoid Alitalia whenever possible!!), Peter immediately asked us for the luggage information and took care of everything for us, including waiting for delivery late in the evening. Breakfast each day was scrumptious. Portions were excellent, but the company of Peter and Aziz was even better as we would go over places where we wanted to go and obtain advise on how best to go. If there were 6 stars possible, Suite 259 deserves it!!

We were recommended Suite 259 by friends and were not disappointed. Peter and Aziz were superb hosts and brilliant at providing tips on what to do in Amsterdam. The 'Grand Sahara' suite was simply fantastic... jacuzzi bath, DVD, air-con, balcony, well stocked fridge etc...a 'bit special' sums it up.

In terms of location the main sights are all close by with some excellent restaurants in the vicinity.

One particular plaudit ...one of our party has a 'gluten intollerence' and Aziz made sure that the diet could be adhered to... the breakfasts were memorable

A visit to a great city made even better by our stay at Suite 259. We have no hesitation in recommending it and the kids are demanding to go back soon.

I travel alone with my two boys and thus need extra space. They go to sleep well before me and I need to do a little business via the internet or phone while they sleep. I was impressed with the reviews and a stroll through the Suite 259 website. I was a little worried about the location being a bit too far from many sites and not having the typical hotel 'things'. Whatever I was worried about were forgotten shortly after arrival. The Suite Grand Sahara is bigger than any hotel executive suite. It is very child and adult friendly with fresh flowers, fruit and wine as well as virtually any DVD you or the kids desire and a jacuzzi. The spiral staircase arrives at the upstairs bedroom which is better than most higher end hotel rooms. There is a fridge, a private cozy balcony, tons of food options, parks and shops within a five minute walk. Grab a tram or taxi twenty feet away. I would have liked to stay for two weeks as it felt like our apartment rather than a hotel. We walked to just about everything and took the tram like the locals if we wanted to rest our feet. It's fast and makes one feel a little less like a tourist. Breakfast is more than enough food to hold you 'til lunch. We lingered and talked to Peter and Aziz for about an hour over many tasty choices. I loved this place and my kids would demand we stay here when in Amsterdam again. It is hard to find anything negative to say. As they were booked the night we arrived in Amsterdam, we stayed in a suite at the Pulitzer the first night. It's not possible to say the Pulitzer is not a very nice place. However, there is no comparison - Suite 259 is the best choice. Although I am happy for Peter and Aziz, I wish fewer people knew about this gem as it will probably become harder to get a booking!

No need for photos - check the website.

Peter met us at the airport and we immediately felt welcome on our first visit to Amsterdam. Suite 259 is located out of the tourist area but yet within easy access to all the great sites, museums, city center etc. It is right on the main public transit routes and allowed us to feel like a local, walking to nearby restaurants for late night dinners, take-out, etc. The Suite Grand Sahara was perfect for me and my wife and our 15 year old teenage son. Peter has a fantastic video library which we used when exhausted from walking, 700 or so titles. The morning breakfasts are as good or better than advertised, a great way to start the day, thanks Azziz. The suite was very clean, modern and creatively furnished, it includes a nice patio and excllent coffee maker!!
We would highly recommend Suite 259 and will stay again on our next visit. The only thing to be aware is that if you stay on the Grand Sahara Suite's second floor loft (a really nice room), access is via a steep and narrow spiral staircase. Ok for us since we are athletic, if you have bad legs or physically limited, this could be an issue. The other Suite, which we also viewed, is very nice as well and perfect for a couple.

All in all a great experience.

Suite 259 is an event in itself; a talking point of the trip. It would be difficult to recommend this place too highly. Peter and Aziz are the perfect hosts, and not obtrusive. They really do care about their business and their guests. Aziz’s breakfasts are simply wonderful and set you up for the day – don’t worry about buying lunch, you won’t need any. Aziz hopes soon to open a small restaurant across the street, which with his skill and love of good food will be a great success.

In common with many other advisor clients we found the location very convenient; the suites spotless, very comfortable, and amazing; the towel and linen changes perfect, and the friendly hospitality such as is rarely seen today in any establishment. Becca and I would simply not stay anywhere else in Amsterdam – whatever the star rating.
