“Sso glad we stayed here.”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

Not knowing Amsterdam, I hunted the internet for a good inexpensive Hotel and what did I find- this one! The receptionist was kind and helpful when I had a credit card problem. The room was at the back of the Hotel, but quiet in a noisy city - such a relief. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. The fact that the fire alarm went off at 6.00 a.m. one morning didn't spoil anything.
Location: excellent for embarking on City visits and helpful information was provided. Perhaps availability of fresh milk would have helped a little for our night cuppa. We're glad we stayed her.

Room Tip: Email the Hotel in advance and you will find they help you very much to meet your needs.

We stayed there and found the hotel was very clean, & well situated in the central area. Breakfast was very good, and the air-conditioning worked very well. Probably not the best neighborhood, but we felt safe walking at night.Room wasn't large but very adequate. WiFi only worked in lobby.

My husband and I travel all over Europe and we were very unhappy with this experience. Location is ok but they told us there was parking for 8 Euros a day but failed to tell us it was a out of the Center. We had to take a tram to the parking lot (good thing we had a GPS) and the tram back. Another thing they didn't tell us is at the parking lot you had to go into the parking office to get the special 8 Euros a day rate. It cost us 48 Euros. At 3am I heard someone outside screaming at someone because someone was trying to rip off his bag. Hotel is expensive for what it is. Breakfast was fine. Maybe if you know all this about how it is with the parking you might be ok.

Location is very close to the train station and a short walk to downtown. The room was small but isnt bad for a short stay. Breakfast was good. The hotel can call a car service to come pick up you're car and park it in safe storage during you're stay. Wifi was bad and you have to pay for it.

Position near to Central station excellent for visiting attractions in Amsterdam. Bedroom clean, but very small. OK for short stay, but would be uncomfortable for any lengthy stay.
Breakfast included, and choice reasonable, and server very helpful and friendly

This hotel is right over the road from Central Station but to the quieter side. Its location is perfect. The hotel was clean and quiet with excellent customer service. The breakfast that was included in the price was first class. There was 13 of us but nothing was too much bother for the staff.
I would stay here even if I were with my wife.

Firstly this hotel is literally across the road from central station, absolutely excellent location - a 5 min walk which makes transportation to the airport very easy. Also there are buses, trams, metro and tour buses at central station so the hotel is ideally located. The hotel is a 5 min walk to Red Light District so walking back late at night is ok because it is close by, it is round the corner from Damark the main street in Amsterdam so everything is so close by which is why we picked this hotel. The hotel is ok but we received terrible service on check in, we got charged prior to arrival 447 euros for 3 people upon check in the bill went up to 475 euros and the recepetionist explained this is "city tax" which is an absolute joke as other people we spoke to did not get charged this? He also told us that we would have to move rooms every day within our 4 day stay, we asked why and he said because there arent enough rooms to accommodate 3 people so each morning we would have to pack and switch rooms. After a heated discussion and I told him that we were not happy and after 10 mins he gave us a room for 3 people and said we could stay in this for the full stay, why not do this at the beginning to save the argument? The room was really small for 3 people with no wardrobe space but it was clean and tidy so cant complain. The hotel receptionists were very rude but the breakfast servers were friendly enough with a good choice of breakfast. This hotel is fine for a short stay, excellent location, clean enough and good choice of breakfast the bad sides are small rooms, no wardrobe space and rude staff who like to add on extra charges so please be careful when booking this and double check that you wont be charged again upon check in!
