“Try to get a room facing away from the tram”
Reviewed 17 March 2013

we had a special rate and enjoyed our stay at the Savoy- with two caveats: our room was facing the F.-Bolstraat with two tram lines and that made for rather noisy nights... Partially responsible was a somewhat defunct window that also made the room a bit drafty- not so nice in March... The neighbourhood is nice and lively with a few minutes walk to the Cuyp Market, the Okura Hotel and quite a few eateries around.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the back to get some quiet...

If you have a congress or festivity in the RAI or neighbourhood, this is a good hotel to stay at.
Its walking distance, has nice rooms and is not Very expensive.
The downside however is that it can be very noisy in the morning from the traffic and in my case (having a room on the first floor) the preparation of the breakfast area.No need for including breakfast, because on your way to the congress venue or the city there ar lots of small dining rooms.

Room Tip: Preferably do not take a room on the first floor or on the streetside of the hotel.

Good hotel & conveniently located. The standard twin room was all good, except the plumbing made strange
disturbing sounds through the night.
The self service through the day coffee in the lobby was a lovely idea!

Catch the Connexions shuttle from Schiphol (bus stop A7 outside terminal - pay at bus). Savoy has small rooms but quality furnishings. Breakfast is all you can eat and more - but book at front desk or you'll pay not 10 but 15 euros. Half-hour walk to the main tourist area but you can catch #25 tram from outside the hotel for e2.70 to the main station and everything's just a walk from there.

I think I had the best nights sleep ever in this hotel, the adjustable beds were awesome. The hotel room was nice and clean, staff were all helpful and our stay there was great :)

We stayed in 6 hotels in Amsterdam this trip, this was the 2nd bestist one :)

Room Tip: Our room was at the back of the hotel which meant less road noise... Although the beds are that comf...
