Room 129 , you actualy need a gps to get there to your room after a long walk in the hallways ... room size look like 2stars or 3 stars maximum, no windows can be opened behind the bed a very big window has a yard view on the motorcycles and bikes , locked to the fence gives you a feeling that you are detained in your booth, shower also had some problems no need to mention. Do yourself a favour and stay in another hotel

I am really sorry to hear that we could not exceed your expectations. I read that you had trouble with finding the room. Room 129 is the last room of this floor. From the lobby it is one way, by following the corridor. We will take this feedback into account and considering directions in the corridors.
The roomsize is a standard size that fits the Dutch regulations for a standard room in a 4 star hotel. If you prefer a bigger room I would like to advise you to book a deluxe room or a penthouse. These rooms are bigger then the standard rooms.
Because this room is situated on the ground floor the window can't be open due to security reasons. But the airconditiong regulates fresh air 24/7. Our penthouses are situated on the sixth floor and have their own private terrace and windows that can be opened.
The hotel is situated in Oud-West were lots of locals live. As you may have noticed, almost everyone in Amsterdam has a bicycle and park their bicycle wherever they like. So there is a possibility that this took away your view and I am really sorry to hear. For they view I would also recommend the pernhouse because they have a view over Amsterdam.
You are more then welcome to contact me personally to share your experience and I will take all your feedback into account.

I had read a few reviews on here of the presidential suites being small so was hesitant about it but went with it anyway and thank god we did what an amazing hotel, the presidential suites are amazing and sitting on the balcony during sunset was one of the highlights of the entire trip, great location and easy to get to but I would advise against using taxis as they really do enjoy going miles and miles and miles out of the way of anywhere you want to go. Discovered on second day google maps are amazing for getting around the city on public transport. And the hotel is a five minute walk from Kashmir coffeeshop which I personally think is the best in the city with the booth out on the street and the sun make for heaven!! But definately give the hotel a go!

Very good hotel, excellent location with good access to everywhere with the tram outside the door. We had a room at the top with the roof top terrace and it was great. The only strange thing was our bathroom looked like it should have had a bath but none there, didn't bother us as the shower was excellent.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay. It is correct that there are wholes in the wall and it is indeed for a bathtub, which is placed a week ago. 2 of our penthouses have a bathtub now.
We would love to welcome you back again.

We stayed here for three nights at the end of March. The hotel is well located and easy to get to from Schipol airport (we took one train and one tram, and the whole journey was about 40 minutes) The room we stayed in was a little small but this wasn't a major issue, as we didn't spend much time there and we were mainly exploring the city. During our stay, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go (Museumplein, Anne Frank house, Dam Square, De Pipj and even the zoo). The bathroom was great, walk-in shower cubicle and heated floors. One slight downside is that no complimentary shampoo was provided, and tea/coffee/water were not refilled on a daily basis- although when we asked at reception, we were able to get more tea. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people looking for a clean, central base during a short stay in Amsterdam.

Thank you very much for your review. We are really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We place bathroom amenities in our deluxe rooms and penthouses. But I would like to inform you that we are going to place amenities in all our rooms as soon as we received new bathroom amenities. This way all the rooms will be equipped with shampoo and showergel. The coffee and tea is refilled by Housekeepng. They only enter the room if you hang up a sign that you would like your room to be cleaned. But off course the reception is more then happy to assist you.
Looking forward to welcome you back.

Went to the Grand for a long weekend in February courtesy of my children. Nice clean hotel and very quiet. Rooms are not large and even the Penthouse which we had was not very big. the room was nicely decorated with a good sized bathroom. The penthouse looks out over the city centre and has a large balcony area used by 3 penthouse occupiers. There is no privacy from the other occupiers which is a shame. When we were there the hotel did not appear to be busy so it was lovely and quiet. The breakfast is expensive, we were offered it for 11 1/2 Euros each!! We found other places to have breakfast at a far more reasonable price. To get to the busier parts of Amsterdam you have to walk about 800 yards and get the No1 tram. They run every 7 minutes during the week. This tram basically takes you to the majority of shops / sightseeing you will want over a long weekend or you can walk, it is not really that far. There are a number of good restaurants nearby but because they tend to be small it is advisable to get their early. We went to the Thai nearby and Café Bosco over the road from the hotel and both were good value. Recommended if you do not want to be right in the centre
