We normally stop at a more classic hotel close by; by saw the Andaz on our last trip and thought that maybe a change of scenery was worth a go..

On arrival; really welcomed and very helpful; had to wait for our room - but coffee was on hand!
The room; well different! with tromp l'oeil wallpaper; and a bedroom cum bathroom mix! interesting.

We had a great view of the canal; rooms were exceptional quiet - little or no noise from other rooms.
They serve complimentary wine in the evening; sadly when we got there in the guest room; most had drank the bar dry! didn't feel that friendly an atmosphere in the guest area; but this might have just been the people there... hey ho!
Breakfast was fab; and have to say amazing!
On the down side - cocktails in the evening seemed a bit weak - the Bloody Mary had little alcohol..
It is in a fabulous area of the 9 streets - which is far, far nicer than the main area of Dam sq..
we think a great hotel; with much to recommend! certainly will use again!
Great spa too!!!!

Room Tip: get the canal side; good to pay extra for lovely view

Andaz hotel used to be the old public library so I love the heritage bit of the hotel. It is a well designed chic hotel in probably one of the best neighborhood in the city. It is next to the Nine Streets shopping districts which is similar to Soho if you are interested in shopping. It is also within 20 minute walk to Van Gogh museum. The free flow of wines from 17:00-19:00 every day is a nice touch and it is extremely popular so don't miss out before heading out for dinner. Service was so perfect that I wish I could give a 6 in rating. We came to Amsterdam before check in time so our rooms were not ready. The front desk made us (literally) tea and coffee to refresh while we waited a bit. This hotel has certainly raised my standard and expectation of hotels in the future.

A unique hotel in an ideal location, both central and quiet, with atmospheric views over the canal. Every aspect of our stay was faultless; the French toast for breakfast was to die for, and the evening wine tasting in the library was an inspired touch! The art installations were fascinating, from the statues in the garden to the giant fish above the bed. With excellent service and facilities, this is definitely a hotel worth repeat visits.

We decided to try this HYATT subsidiary situated in the heart of Amsterdam during busy August Week-End. Great location and superb architecture. The lobby and the adjacent bar are awesome, the restaurant in the back more low key and view on a wonderful inner courtyard garden. The rooms are very comfortable with Superior Equipment, great view on thePrinsengracht (we had room 409) and interesting architecture. We had the first evening dinner at the Bluespoon restaurant, after an excellent "Sidecar" at the bar. Food is organic, fresh and reasaobale portions. Very friendly and professional service, who spent more time hugging our dog than speaking with us.The GM visited us at our table for an agreable conversation. The Hotel is extremely dog friendly and our Labrador couldn't sit down anywhere withour having a drink tray brought to him. He had his own Matrass (FATBOY) in the room and there was a full jar with delicious (so it seemed) in-betweens for him.Definitely to recommend! We even had our car parked in the limited garage, at a high price though but it was important for us having travelled by road to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Room 409 facing the busy Canal but efficient sound-proof

Amazing stay, would recommend a suite - very impressive room. The location is convenient for all aspects of the city and is close enough to almost all attractions to walk everywhere. The staff were excellent as they always are at Andaz.

One of my best experience in terms of hotel services. The breakfast was amazing - be sure to order their egg white omelet with Spinach. The location was perfect, we walked to pretty much everything, Anne Frank's Museum, Red Light District, Van Gogh museum, Supper Club, and the list goes on and on. The garden view fantastic, happy hour in the library a nice treat and had an extremely friendly staff. I left my glasses (don't judge, it was a very early flight), called them after getting back home and they mailed it all the way to the US. Now that is called good service. It was a lot more than we had expected.

Room Tip: Garden facing rooms were spacious and nice!

I was here for 3 nights for an office retreat - that included use of the conference space of the hotel and partaking several meals.

The hotel is well located, not far from Central Amsterdam, but far enough away to not be subject to the hustle bustle of the city. The hotel is not large by usual Hyatt standards, but is understandable given the central location. The ambience is generally stately and has a lot of dim, soft lighting.

The rooms are nice and spacious, comfortable and cushy.

The food was generally excellent - though the breakfast could do with a bit more variety.

The service was above par - the staff were attentive and happy to help with multiple queries - they also arranged packed snacks for an early morning cycling trip.

Its somewhat expensive, but worth it.
