My girlfriend and I spent last weekend for Kingsday in Amsterdam and spent 3 nights at Sir Albert.... WOW! A short walk from Museumplein and the Heineken Brewery (and 5 mins from the centre taking trams 16 or 24), this is bar far the best hotel we've stayed in. The rooms were chic, trendy and had everything you could possibly need and more, including the most amazing bed and shower ever!! The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided there were nice little touches through such as a coffee machine, bluetooth stereo and even orange jelly beans and a letter welcoming us on Kingsday weekend. Then there was the service which was absolutely exceptional. Upon arrival we were treated to a glass of Prosecco and the concierge offered to book our tickets as well as recommending the best parties to visit the day after. I can't comment on the restaurant as we didn't eat there but by all accounts it was always busy and the smell coming from that area was pretty special.

All in all, we have a wonderful experience and will not hesitate to come back to Sir Albert for our next Amsterdam stay!!!!

The hotel is in a good location, easy walking distance to Museumplein, which from here you can explore further, with the canal and trams.

The design of the hotel is very modern, especially the rooms, with big windows and portable light switch panels! A lot of reviews say how small the rooms are, but we didn't find this to be the case. Yes, they weren't the biggest, but they were more than sizeable for a weekend. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in, just perfect! The bathroom was spacious and the overhead shower wonderful. We found the rooms to be very quiet, which just added to a great nights sleep.

The hotel restaurant was busy every night, but we didn't eat there, so can't comment.

The only negative comment about the hotel, and it is minor, was that the rooms weren't cleaned as well as they should be, in my opinion. I found a pretty thick layer of dust on the in room telephone. Now, for a pretty high end boutique hotel, I wouldn't expect this level of housekeeping. That said, it didn't spoil our weekend in any way.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly. From check in, to porter, to the gentlemen on the door at night.

I wouldn't hesitate visiting the hotel again, and if will recommend to all my friends and family.

We have just got home from our stay with you,we fell in love with your hotel and Amsterdam.
1st impressions are impressive from the moment you walk to the door, to the sexy aroma as you walk through the door, to be greeted by staff with smiling faces and friendly advice.
The room we had was lovely with a balcony overlooking the canal, perfect for Kingsday to watch the party boats start the day.
The bed and bedding WOW, When you work hard and come away for a rest that is exactly what you get in a Sir Albert bed! The first night I slept for 10hrs straight!
We also ate in the restaurant and the girl that served us was so helpful and friendly, helping us with our selection! The food is delicious and I will 100% eat there again! x #bed #kingsday #siralbert #izakayar #class #cool #amsterdam

This is a great new hotel (it had opened a couple of months before our stay) with a chic designer vibe and friendly staff. Lovely touches like espressos on arrival and a bit of a glamorous town house feel. The rooms are very well equipped and quite luxurious with nice details. The beds and linens are excellent. The location is also great - easy walking distance to markets, museums and with good tram connections for longer trips. There is a trendy expensive asian restaurant downstairs (where you can get breakfast in the am) with a bar and very hip clientele. I wouldn't say this is a very 'family friendly' place, but amazing cocktails and memorable food. Due to the huge plants to the left of the outside tables, it wasn't until a couple of days later we realised there is a mini red light district adjacent to the hotel. This helped explain a few things such as serious security in the hotel lobby at night and some of the rather exotic bar guests, but having said that, it is Amsterdam and it wasn't too too sleazy.
My sole issue would be the very 'atmospheric' (read pitch black) lighting in the corridors outside the rooms at night. As walls and floors are all dark brown, this can make navigation tricky. However, all in all, it just about warrants the price and we would probably go back.

Dear Domesticdervish,

Sir Albert is delighted that you enjoyed your stay at his Private Mansion.

Did you know that the red ligh districts are the most save area’s in Amsterdam? The reason that we have security is because of the door policy of the Izakaya restaurant.

You can always let us know during your stay if you experience any issues in your room so we can check if a room change is possible.

On behalf of Sir Albert I want to thank you for writing this review. We hope that we can welcome you again in the future.

Very nice room (deluxe version) with great shower but no bath. Nice glass of Prosecco on arrival, cool décor and funky Japanese restaurant. Not cheap at €275 but that's cities for you. Location OK, 10 minutes out from museums but at 25 minutes to city centre, far enough compared with other hotels. Decent place though.

Ignore any bad comments, it's brilliant.
It was classy, clean, very comfy and the staff were unbelievably friendly.
It's a short walk into town (or take the tram) and we will definitely go back there.

It might be a little expensive but you get what you pay for in life. The restaurant was pricey but really yummy (if you like Japanese food). It's easy to eat brek out if you want (croissants from local supermarkets or a cafe) and there are plenty of local restaurants for dinner.

It was perfect for us on our stay in Amsterdam and we look forward to going back.
The bed is ridiculously comfortable and the service was perfect.

Room Tip: Think we had the room up from basic. It was great and we would have been just as happy with anything...
