“Best. Bed. Ever.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

Sir Albert is a very stylish, modern hotel near Amsterdam Centre.
The staff is young, personal and very service minded, they can help you with everything you need.

The rooms are small, but just big enough, you're not in Amsterdam to spend time in your hotel room anyway - although you want to with Sir Albert's beds. Best bed I've ever laid in. Ever.

The breakfast is tasteful and elegant and there is a charming marked near by.

I will definitely stay here again next time I go to Amsterdam!

This was a 3 night stay with my wife, and we were absolutely amazed with the hotel!
Slick, opulence and style sums it up.

The customer service from the staff was fantastic, and we were made to feel at ease and welcome at the place. Its easy to get to the hotel by the number 16 or 24 tram services.

Location
=======

Good location, being next to the canal and local tram/bus stops. Some local restaurants are very close to the hotel, but the whole of the city is minutes away by tram.

Rooms
======

We had the deluxe room, having complimentary bath robes and slippers. The bed is so comfy!!! Best sleep ever. Noise levels from the corridor, adjacent rooms and outside are very low. The room was clean, modern and stylish, typical of the local culture (i.e. slight open plan style). Excellent shower, and the wi-fi is fast and free.

Food
====

Breakfast is extra, served in the Izakaya restaurant. Again, loved the decor and atmosphere. Food was fabulous. They have a mini buffet with cereals, fruit and sweet bread. Then you have a menu to select a cooked breakfast from, served to your table. The chef is accomodating for any particular requests. Bit on the pricey side, but it is of great quality and pre-booking the breakfast at check in reduced the cost from 25 to 18 euros per person.

We tried local restaurants for breakfast too, e.g. Pompa restaurant near the Museum Square.

TIP: There is AH branded supermarket by the bath-tub shaped art museum, which is a good, cheaper alternative for snacks.

Overall, this is a fantastic hotel and we highly recommend it.

Stayed at Sir Albert in March 2014, small but good value room in the attique. Good design and space saving features within room and the hotel is near a little market and some good bars and restaurants.

Helpful staff too, and easy to get to by tram,

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at the Sir Albert. Staff service was impeccable and its strategic location near the Albert Cuyp Market, a tram line, and walking distance of the Rijks Museum and Van Gogh Museum was also highly desirable. Our room was large by European standards. We also appreciated the free wifi. The breakfast was good though high priced for American standards. Strongly recommend.

Selected by travel agent, but great choice in museum district. Very accommodating staff. Good recommendations for dinner. Front desk person by the name of Jop was very helpful, but so was everyone else. No request was a problem.

Room Tip: Canal view room smaller than street view
