“Not to be underestimated”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

When struggling to decide what to eat, we found this on trip advisor and gave it a go. It has no thrills but we had Thai soup for a starter and it was packed with flavour. The mains were the same and my dish was packed with squid and prawns which were perfectly cooked! We thoroughly enjoyed it and I would recommend it.

Booked online for this restuarant a few weeks before our weekend to Amsterdam. The food was amazing. Spotlessly clean, you can actually watch them cooking it, the people cooking the food in kitchen had hairnets on.
Service was brilliant and the staff were so polite and genuinely friendly. The atmosphere was great, dimmed lighting and gentle music. Glad we booked as dont think we would have got in.
Lovely lovely food....would definately go back when we return to Amsterdam and definately recommend.

“Super tasty food !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

We found this restaurant via the Trip Advisor app and it was so worth it !!
The food was delicious and the staff very helpful and attentive. We arrived with no reservation and they moved the tables to allow all 7 of us to sit together for our meal.
The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The chilli dip was addictive !
Our meals came out quickly and all the plates were left totally empty :)

“Barely Thai”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

The food is tasty, generally speaking. Staff were very friendly. As a restuarant, it is good.

As a Thai restaurant, it is not authentic. At least, the crispy fried pork with garlic (Moo Thod Gratiem - google it) was prepared very differently - it was served wet almost with some gravy.

Food is tasty nonetheless BUT if you are particular about authenticity, like me, this is may not be the place for you.

“Good food - well priced for Amsterdam”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

Thai Phutakun offers good Thai food - make sure you book because they do get very busy and were turning people away when we were there. I'd give the ambience maybe a 7 out of 10. It's very small and dark and you are sat very close to other people but the food does make up for this. It is well priced compared to other restaurants in Amsterdam. I liked it but not sure it was special enough for our city break away.
