Authentic Chinese. They specialize in Cantonese and Szejuan food, and there is quite a large variety of options on the menu. Some meals are great (chinese noodles with chicken, fried rice) and others are just average (beef with chili and garlic) since fatty beef is used. Portions are generally huge and the food is served extremely quickly. The service is friendly, you are always seated immediately without any wait, and the food arrives fast even when the place is full. Menus are in both Dutch and English.
Chinese visitors to Amsterdam often frequent this place, and they come by the busload since the restaurant is large and has ample seating. The restaurant is quiet and peaceful. The interiors are part chinese artifact and part old fashioned decor. It's comfortable and clean, but a bit outdated. Prices are very fair for the area.
It's a great, simple little neighborhood place. It's low key and fast, and good if you're just looking for an easy weeknight dinner out. Don't have too high expectations, and you'll think it's great. Maybe even better than I rated it. I'd have given this a 3.5 rating if it were an option. I just can't give it a 4 or 5 when I compare it to some of the higher end restaurants. However, for what you pay, you get great value here.
