“Green oasis just outside cosmopolitan, busy Amsterdam”

We truly fell in love with this location, surrounded by water, greenspace and gardens, woods, and charming cottages. Just a short bike or bus ride to the heart of Amsterdam, but so peaceful and relaxing as well. Anrik is a wonderful host, whose cottage reflects his commitment to sustainability and thoughtfulness. We really enjoyed the use of the bikes, which we rode all over the city, the equivalent of driving in New York. Lovely market nearby meant we could make our meals. Wonderful experience. We'll be back.

“Perfect place for our perfect honeymoon.”

The house was amazing and Anrik was super helpful. The house was far enough from the city for much needed peace and quiet yet easily accessible to public transportation for a quick ride into the city. We really appreciated the use of the bikes, they really gave us a chance to see some country side and sights outside of the city. We will definitely recommend a stay in this beautiful garden house. What a perfect way to celebrate our honeymoon.

“A garden house with great character.”

The house and garden are situated in a quiet village within easy reach of central Amsterdam.

Anrik is a very knowledgeble and extremely helpful host. We arrived late and very tired and he ferried us to the nearest shops before they closed to ensure we had supplies for the morning.

Getting into central Amsterdam is quick and easy by a combination of bus and tram, we got slightly confused by the directions when we first arrived, but soon got the hang of it!

We did not have a chance to have a go on the bikes on offer, or to explore the local area a bit more, which would have been good.

Comfortable and welcoming, definitely recommended.

“A great place to stay”

This house is exactly as shown in the photos. Anrik was very quick to respond to emails beforehand, gave us clear instructions and met us when we arrived and showed us around and explained how things worked. Don't let the house being in the countryside deter you from staying here. It didn't take long at all to travel by public transportation and it was great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was welcoming to have a fruit basket on the table and drinks in the fridge when we arrived. Anrik and Carla were very friendly and were easy to contact if we needed anything. The market just down the road had everything we needed, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. A great stay!

“Fairy Tale Cottage”
Reviewed 12 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Do no get spooked because this cottage is across the river from downtown Amsterdam: it takes all of twenty minutes to get to Central Station, the heart of the city, by tramway. After a day filled with sights and sounds, you will be more than happy to return to Carl's garden and Anrik beautifully appointed cottage. On the way, you can stop at the incredible supermarket to get a few thins. By the way, you must say hello to the ducks in the canal.

“Relaxing”

Anrik's place was a nice stay away from the bustle of downtown Amsterdam, yet easy enough to get to by bus or tram. The garden was lovely and the accommodations comfortable. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood and nearby park(s). We also took advantage of the bicycles and spent almost a full day riding the countryside. There are nice trails and plenty of wild and farm animals to observe.

Just a short walk from the house is a market the has locally grown produce and an excellent restaurant called the Land Markt, we ate there a number of times. The staff was very nice and fun. Prices were very reasonable.

If you are not familiar with traveling by bus in this part of the world, you have to ring for your stop, else the bus keeps on trucking. If we had to do it over, we would have just walked from the #26 train/tram versus using the bus.

We would definitely stay here again.
