The hotel was excellent with a vibrant atmosphere. The staff at reception were extremely friendly and very welcoming - nothing was too much trouble for them. My only criticism relates to the Orange juice served with breakfast - it tasted (and smelled) like engine oil. On the other hand they did not charge me for using the mini bar - I wish I knew that in advance! I stay in many many hotels, this was a refreshing change and an enjoyable experience.

Dear brianski2013,

Thank you very much for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us.

I've passed on your comments about the orange juice to our team and we'll definitely make sure this is taken care of.
Concerning the minibar, it is normally not the case that we don't charge our guests for the minibar. Maybe you mean the chips and nuts that are in the top drawyer, those are free of charge :-).

We're looking forward to your next visit!

Best wishes,

I had the pleasure to stay in this hotel before the opening. Different style, but very, very good. I stayed in so many hotels, this one is certainly part of my top 10. Restaurant is also very good, their cocktails, mmmm. Don't forget to take at least once your breakfast there. And they have a special steak for dinner.
Will certainly return.

I recently stayed at the Art'Otel Amsterdam with my wife who loved the hotel......great rooms, lovely decor....maybe not to everyone's taste but definitely adds to the experience. Hotel is directly across the road from Central Station, Hop on/off Bus and cruise excursions....you can also hire bikes at Mike'S Bikes next to the station......so, location was perfect. Greeted at check in by very friendly staff and checked in whilst sitting down with coffee (another young lady from reception took our luggage to the room) and given tour of hotel and facilities. We had a room facing the station (very high spec room) and slept really well all night......no noise through windows at all. Breakfast was included and again was excellent, particularly the poached egg with Avocado on Rye with a slice of lime.....lovely. I can't comment on the Dinner service as we tend to eat out but based on breakfast I would expect the same high standard for Dinner. Overall staff very courteous, rooms high tech and excellent, interior.......very modern and funky...great location. I have recommended the Art'otel to friends should they have the pleasure of visiting Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Great views of a busy cosmopolitan city try room 301......no noise at night.....just a great buzz.

Location....right across from the train station is perfect for doing the touristy things. Canal boats, trams and buses are right across the street, but watch out for bicycles.
Welcome....Three "check in stations" with the nicest people you will find. Cheerful, helpful, thoughtful and playful too.
Rooms....This hotel recently opened and the rooms look brand new. Nicely furnished with a modern touch. Bed and pillows comfortable and a big bathroom with a large freestanding tub and a shower with a rain storm or regular shower head, big enough for two. Only drawback in the shower is a very small area to put your soap, shampoo, etc. Also note....there is no door to the bathroom...if you are modest this is not the place for you. The wall between the bedroom area and the bathroom is also a "see thru' glass that might make those modest people cringe a bit.
Breakfast...exceptional service. You order from a menu not buffet style and what we had was always nicely made and to our liking. The French Toast is a winner. Fresh squeezed orange juice too. No upcharge for breakfast, which may change in the future and could just be because they just opened.
Restaurant and Bar......Nice layout with different areas to eat and drink. The Saturday night we hit the bar turned out to be their biggest night since they opened. Disc jockey adds to the festivities. We ate dinner the last night at the hotel and is was enjoyable. All the tables were booked which was surprising but the word is getting out in the city that this is a wonderful place. The menu consists of small plates but not a lot of choices. What we had was good and prices were reasonable. Service like at breakfast is exceptional.
Fitness Center.....This is a top notch fitness center although a bit on the small side as it is open to other than guests. There is also a small pool, a sauna, tanning bed and relaxation area.
Overall. This place cannot be beat. The staff was attentive and helpful. I was concerned with the noise from the bar being heard upstairs but we could not hear it. We were on the backside of the property and the 4th floor which may have helped. The staff helped us with places to eat and how to get there. .Xavier the Concierge helped us get oriented to the city and pointed out some unique places to go.
Stay here you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: As for a room on the upper floor

This was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at in Europe. The staff was over the top helpful and the hotel was clean, hip and modern. When we arrived we were welcomed with welcome drinks at the bar. They had a DJ with a sax player who was amazing! The location was great, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. The only complaint would be that it was a little bit loud on Saturday night.

Central, cool, trendy and friendly! Brand new designer hotel with excellent restaurant, bar and fitness facilities on top of the rest you expect of a great hotel. Would recommend for both business and romance weekends. No buffet for breakfast so make room for extra time
