It's not everyday that you stay in a hotel that would add to your intellectual value and artistic sense! The briliance of architectural renovation of a historic building done with surgical precission meets innovative interior design with great attention to detail all topped with a magnificent sculptural story about human revolution! Need I say more? Ok, ultra friendly staff, hip cafe, and central location.

Loved this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Arrived at 10am, checked in straight away. Really well kitted out. Breakfast delicious. Great location. Only issue was flaky tv reception, but everything else was perfect.

The hotel is located adjacent to the main train station and is in close proximity to the pedestrian shopping areas

Traffic especially tour buses can be a problem but isn't necessarily a drawback

The unique aspect of this hotel is the art and the hotel rooms are very well designed

Located across from Centraal station, very convenient to trams, metro, and intercity trains. Definitely not a quiet canalside hotel, and there will be masses of people outside the hotel all day; that said, my room faced the train station and there weren't any noise problems at night.

Rooms are rather "stylish" but not substantively different from your average hotel room, they were decent size for a major European city. The art/architecture books in the room were a nice touch.

The breakfast buffet included in the rate feature a fairly limited selection of cold items. Hot items could be ordered for a small charge--the eggs (well, egg) benedict was well worth €5.

This was truly one of the best hotels my fiancé and I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. The location couldn't have been better - it was only a 3 min walk from Central Station (but far enough away to be buffered from the crowds of pedestrians and the noise), and most everything worth seeing was within walking distance (though there was no shortage of public transportation nearby). The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, the breakfast buffet was fantastic (and included), and the rooms were impeccably clean, well appointed and quite large by European standards. The hotel itself is a design gem, with lots of cool sitting areas and an impressive collection of art + design coffee table books, which was a perfect way to wind down and enjoy a night cap after a long day's worth of walking and sightseeing. It also had one of the better hotel gyms I've seen, which is a nice bonus. It definitely appeals more to a younger, hipper crowd, but if you're a fan of good design then it's well worth the stay. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

The hotel is on the opposite of the central station, 2 mins walk from the Dam. The design is beautiful, great service on check in etc. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms are also spacious and well designed. Great amenities too. Comfy beds. Breakfast is included, however the choice is very limited (especially when you look at the room rates you have to pay). You can order some fresh egg dishes but you have to pay for that. Staff was not really great at breakfast. A lot of miscommunications all the time and we had to ask for coffee and juice all the time ourselves. Here some improvement is needed, because in a 5 star hotel you expect a kind of service. But overall it was a good stay.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, ask for a room on the backside.
