My friend and I choose this hotel as our second choice because breakfast was included with the stay and we could not have been more happier that we choose this hotel. The first sign was when we exited the train station and our hotel was right there, second an IMAX theater right across from the hotel! Third well it is the Hampton! We plan on going back to Amsterdam and plan on going to this hotel again! The staff was friendly, gym small, but it has the equipment to get the job done.

Look no further than the Hampton Hilton hotel. It is fantastic, particularly at less than $100 for an overnight stay. My husband and I traveled there by taxi after disembarking in Amsterdam at the end of a cruise, and take no notice when the ship blithely tells you that getting a taxi from the port is difficult. We had only a few minutes to wait for an excellent modern taxi with its English speaking driver. Consequently we were very early arriving at the hotel but our room was ready and waiting for us. The hotel and everything in it is new and modern.. Our two single (twin) beds were some of the biggest and comfiest we have ever slept in and the bed linens are better than in some hotels at twice the price. There is a huge walk in shower, free internet access, coffee/tea making facilities in the room and also available at all times in the breakfast room. The self service breakfast is phenomenal for its choice, taste and presentation. There is an on time, free shuttle service to and from School airport running every 30 minutes. The entire staff, including the shuttle driver, spoke excellent English and were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Because of flight times, once we had settled ourselves in to the hotel we had time to spare. A leisurely 15 to 20 minute walk, through a pretty residential area of Amsterdam brought us to Hoopfddorp Shopping and town Centre. This is a huge shopping area with a “town square”, an open air market, and hundreds of shops large and small in interesting streets and a covered mall. There were dozens of small restaurants serving any type of food or drink you can imagine. The area is definitely not "touristy”. We didn’t see one china windmill or plastic tulip, though there were real ones on the flower market. Most of the signs, information and writing on products were only in Dutch. However, the very friendly people spoke excellent English and would happily translate anything from menus, to articles for sale and their prices. A perfect place to experience "real" Holland.

The hotel is 3 minutes walk from Bijlmer Arena Station where you can access both train (to and from airport within 15 minutes) and metro (to and from city center within 10 minutes) The hotel offers either family room or junior suite which have 2 beds (5 feet wide) and one sofa bed per room which can cater for family of 4 comfortably. Further the hotel also offers free breakfast which is a plus. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are modern and clean. I will definitely stay again if we are going to visit Amsterdam again.

Room Tip: Book early as both family room or junior suite goes fast.

The hotel is very conveniently located near Schiphol airport and Central Station. The transport system is excellent. Trains from the airport to Bijlmer Arena station (where the hotel is) departs every 15 minutes, the journey is short and the hotel is located right next to the station. Thereafter the best way to travel to the centre of the city is by Metro, line 54 takes commuters to Central Station in about 15 minutes. The Metro is very convenient, easy to use, not too expensive and safe. Having a station right next to the hotel means that day trips for example to Rotterdam are also possible without any stress. Next to the hotel are found restaurants, bars, shops and a cinema. Of course anyone attending an event to the Arena or Music Hall will find the hotel perfectly located. The fact that the hotel was not in the city centre was not a problem due to the excellent transport available. The hotel 's staff were helpful, nice and relaxed (Like most Dutch, I found) , the family room was spacious, bathroom door which strangely was also the cupboard door did not shut properly but it was not too much of a problem. The hotel was quiet with absolutely no noise from the station. Breakfast was good but it does get very busy and can be a problem to find a table accommodating a family. The area felt safe. Taking everything into consideration including the price i would use this hotel again.

This is a modern bare bones hotel in a modern suburb of Amsterdam. Possibly in an urban renewal area because everything around it is new. Train station is literally at the door. The trains run every 15 minutes during the day and it's only about 17 minutes to Central Station. I always stay in central Amsterdam. But I had to get 2 rooms this trip because I brought kids along. Room rates are much more reasonable than central Amsterdam. That said, I will go back to central Amsterdam in the future. Because after the train ride to Central Station, then you have to catch a tram to where you really want to go. If you are already in central area, all you have to do is get on a tram. I'm a Hilton Diamond member and asked for an upgrade. There is none at this hotel. All rooms are the same size and no suites. Either 1 queen bed or 2 twin beds in each room. No exceptions. No executive lounge. No pool. No wonder it's cheap. But very clean and top notch staff.

Room Tip: The HVAC systems are not strong. Recommend north side rooms in summer and south side rooms in Winte...

We are very honored that you as a Diamond member had chosen to stay at Hampton by Hilton! And thank you very much for sharing your experience via TripAdvisor!

Altough we do not have the complimentary upgrade at Hampton, I do hope that my team welcomed you with your My Way preferences!

Thank you very much for the room tip. From our side we will take a look at the HVAC central system in order to have get them all working as they should do!

Best regards,
Victor van der Knaap

Although outside the center of Amsterdam, the link with the center through Metro and Train is excellent. Great service and nice staff. Only negative is that the breakfast area is a bit too small for the amount of guests, especially during the weekend. Otherwise great hotel. Recommended.

Room Tip: Good connection with the center with Metro just across the square. Avoid going down late for breakfa...

We had a great stay here - right next to the Ajax stadium, shopping centre really nearby and the metro station is opposite. We bought a three day ticket for 20 Euros and this meant no messing about with tickets everyday. The room was lovely, great bathroom, breakfast was enough to keep us going all day until our evening meal. They serve, bacon, eggs, sausages, toast, croissants, donuts, cereal & fruit - so something for everyone. It was also nice to come back in the afternoon, escaping the hectic city centre and then going back in at night. Hotel also has great links to the airport, so ideally located. Supermarkets around the corner and cashpoints, so you don't have to withdraw cash in the centre of town.
One and only complaint was the room was a bit warm, but bearable - the air con was set at 18 & it was August. The Wi-Fi was great - I know others had a problem but we did not. Staff were really friendly and helped us find train times back to the airport.
