“A substantial brunch that kept us going until dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

Omelegg was just a one-minute walk from the hotel we were staying at (EasyHotel). We had been given a 15% discount voucher for staying there, to use at Omelegg. The place is very quaint, all in wood and with an open kitchen. It is very cosy and the staff are very professional.
The Big Ben breakfast was an English breakfast. The coffee and fresh orange juice were also very good!
Lovely atmostphere with jazz playing in the background.
Good Wifi for our morning catch-ups.
We went there 3 mornings in a row as we figured that a 12euros brunch that kept you going until dinner was a real bargain! Plus it tastes very good!

“Great "egg"mosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2013

Considering breakfast is the easiest meal to prepare it seems risky to focus an entire menu on only one type of breakfast but the omelettes were great! The space is fresh, clean and the staff kind and attentive. Internet is free too!

“A twenty minute tram ride from my hotel but well worth it”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

We read a review on another site that said Omelegg was excellent and that they were coeliac friendly so we decided to travel down from the Movenpick near Amsterdam Centraal to try it out for ourselves.

Was it worth it - yes it was. With my daughter being on a gluten free diet we were keen to see how they coped with this - especially as you can watch the chef actually cook the omelettes. The waiter assured us that her dish would be cooked with gluten free oil. As cooking oils are generally gluten free we were unsure that he fully understood what was needed. Needless to say our fears were unfounded as we watched the chef carefully clean and prepare a fresh omelette pan with fresh clean oil and utensils and change his gloves to prepare my daughters omelette.

All three of our omelettes were fresh and tasty and the coffee was very good too. In all it was particularly good value and so much better than the pricier though more extensive buffet at our hotel. Certainly well worth a visit if you are in the area or don't mind a detour to get there.

“Super - but not just for breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2013

Why did we only discover Omelegg on our last day in Amsterdam? Had we know about it, we'd have had breakfast there every day.

Not only do they make fabulous omelettes, but they also make fabulous muesli and fabulous coffee and have fabulous service.

It's 5 mins walk from the Okura Hotel where we stayed (where the breakfasts cost six times as much!)

“A great breakfast place in Amsterdam.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

Our last day in Amsterdam and we had noticed the Omelegg a few times as we passed in the tram. We decide to go for breakfast and we were very pleased with our choice of cafe for breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and spoke very good English.

There was an excellent choice of food for breakfast and we opted for omelettes, cooked perfectly, with brown bread and smoked salmon. Excellent orange juice and coffee to wash accompany the food.

This was a really friendly place with a nice wooden decor theme and super value for money food and free WiFi as well.
