We (mother/daughter) stayed with cat Boebie and owner Sietske for 2 nights/3 days. We had a lovely stay, felt very much at home and really like cat Boebie, she is sooooo cute! And if you don't like cats, don't worry, she is not "in your face"and will ignore you if you want to.
Houseboat Tante Piet is conveniantly located on a quit street/canal and within easy walking distance from Amsterdam central station and the city with everything you want to see and do on your trip.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the houseboat accommodations and very much enjoyed the helpful suggestions and conversation with Sietske.. I would recommend this experience to anyone.
My friend and I had a lovely break on Sietske's house boat.It was an ideal base to see the many sights with just a short walk to the main train station. Sietske made us very welcome including Boobie the cat. She was very busy with her next venture, doing up a ship, which we were lucky to go and see . Looking forward to seeing the finnished vessel. Many Thanks
The house boat is located in a great location. It's tucked away along the peaceful Eastern docks and yet within walking of the station, shops, restaurants, cafes, supermarket etc. The boat itself is light, airy, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Sietske is so friendly and helpful - she gave us lots of valuable information about the area and a great recommendation for bike hire (an essential 'must do' in Amsterdam!). We didn't want to leave!
We had just great days on Houseboat Tante Piet! The houseboat and especially the owner is just amazing – really friendly, uncomplicated, warm hearted and a lot of fun.
We miss her already and cannot wait to go back!
We loved our stay on this houseboat. We had pretty high expectations and they were MORE than realized. This was a quiet location--not as 'dense pack' as downtown. We would see only 4-5 boats go by our windows. And although at first it seemed far out of town--once we learned the roads it was a delightful respite after a full day of walking and sight seeing. The kitchen was well stocked by Seiske--awesome cheese and sausage and a few cold beers. The bedroom and living room were comfortable, clean and well decorated with festive lights---it looked charming in the evening. A fun and active restaurant/bar just down the lane. Tram stop 2 minutes away--whisked you anywhere if you didn't want to walk.
Seitske and Boebie were there when needed but we certainly had our privacy.
Had a fantastic stay, such a warm and cosy boat house. Great location only a 15'min walk into centrum or a 5min tram ride. We had lovely warm reception from (Sasica) who was very accommodating, gave us great advise on things to do during our stay in Amsterdam. Defiantly recommend hiring the recreational boat form (Sasica)this was a real highlight of our trip, the best way to get around and see the sites!
