To be honest, Players is not the sort of place we'd normally go to eat, but on a wet Saturday evening, we decided to give it a whirl despite being at least 20 years older than everyone else in the place. We're really glad we did.
My steak was superbly cooked just to my liking (between mooing and pink), and my partner's coq au vin rich, tasty and bursting with flavour. The young waitress was attentive and polite and welcoming, and overall we were delighted to have found such good food (and merlot) in such unexpected surroundings.
