To start with, this was a smooth booking process. Peter answered all questions prior to booking, gave directions from the airport to the apartment and we were warmly greet when we stepped off the tram.
We had the Upper Amsterdam 1 apartment which was efficiently laid out and all basic requirements provided. Tram 9 around the corner taking approx 10 minutes to Amsterdam Central; supermarket around the corner to provide provisions; food specialty and butcher shops across the road; and restaurants all around if you didn't feel like cooking in the apartment. The beds were very comfortable which is great when travelling and walking all day.
To start, I would like to say that not only was this place very clean, perfect for 2 people but it was also 1 minute from a wonderful bakery. There were restaurants within walking distance and public transport was also close. Peter and Ravir were so sweet and accommodating. This is really a great place to stay!!
Dealing with the owners was super easy. They were responsive to all our questions, and were courteous; so much so that we had no worries about our visit to Amsterdam. We were only excited to get to Amsterdam and the great looking apartment. Ravir greeted us warmly and helped us with our bags. As everything was ready and available for us we had no need to contact the owners again but Ravir told us to call if we needed anything at all.
The apartment looks great online but it is even better in real life—bigger than what can be depicted. The accomodations and amenities are perfect. Peter and Ravir have thought of everything down to an umbrella for use in the often rainy Amsterdam weather. However, we were there for 6 days and had very little rain and pretty warm temperatures. The kitchen is also well equipped. The bathroom is big and towels and toilet tissue are provided. My favorite part of the apartment was the huge floor to ceiling windows and the doors opening out onto a tiny balcony. Great street views. Oh and the bed(s) is comfortable.
The apartment is located in a perfect neighborhood. Close to a bakery-coffeeshop, butcher, fish market, post office, restaurants and grocery store. Everything is in walking distance including hoping on the tram, the tram stop is less than one block away. Love the tram service! Even the though apartment is off a main travel artery, the neighborhood is fairly quiet and at night it is peaceful. We took long walks every night admiring the old buildings and learning more about the neighborhood. We started every morning with superb Dutch coffee and delicious baked goods (croissant and a cookie to go) at the corner bakery.
We booked the apartment via booking.com, it was our first time using the service. It was a little clunky to use at first because not all is explained outright.
I highly recommend this wonderful apartment and this fabulous neighborhood if you are visiting Amsterdam. Note: The steps to the apartment are typical old Dutch steps—step and narrow.
Ravir gave us a warm welcome at the apartment, he is very friendly and helpful. The apartment in the backyard is very quiet, nicely designed, very tidy and comfortable. The neighbourhood is nice, going to the center takes like 15 minutes with bikes, the infrastructure is very good (supermarket, coffee, bakery, bike rental etc within a 5 min walk radius). Just one recommendation for the owners: make the wifi signal stronger as it was weak and unsteady. All other things were perfect. Therefore, we strongly recomend this apartment and its owners!
Had a great time in Dam and the appartment was very good. Our host(s) Ravir and Peter are super frienldy and helpful, live down the road and are always available. The only problem with this pad is that the balcony points towards a side/main street, and is quite lively and also it gets very noisy on Tuesdays and Fridays early mornings since the garbage disposal truck has to empty the two big (hidden in the ground) containers. Or maybe its just that we live in the country and were not used to the noises of a big city :-)
This apartment provides easy access to the city and museums and is located in a very pleasant and friendly residential area. The apartment is small as expected and is up one level of difficult stairs so be prepared for that. Peter was very helpful with our luggage in navigating the stairs so that worked out well. The kitchen is adequate for basic stovetop food preparation and storage and works well enough for a couple. Peter was a great, friendly, and very helpful host. Thanks Peter!
Lovely apartment . The comfiest beds EVER and the host who greeted us (ravir) was the most helpful and showed us everything before leaving us to settle in . Not one complaint . Would definitely book here again !!
