“Nice stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 December 2013

We got here last night. At first glance it wasn't what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Having said that the room is a nice size, bed was comfortable, bathroom was a good size and staff for the most part were friendly. I think next time I would prefer a hotel closer to the center but again not a bad stay. A plus was that we were able to do laundry in the hotel.
Food is pricey in Amsterdam, hotel breakfast was very expensive. We opted to eat in town for less.

Room Tip: I didn't know that you could pay and extra 15 euro and upgrade. When I commented on the room I w...

Stayed here for 3 nights, was in a great location, 2min walk from the tram stop just round the corner, number 16 and 24 run straight to central station and the dam. Rooms were clean, had a nice view of the canal, breakfast was ok but I think for the extra you pay it would be more worth while just going to a local cafe, all in all a great stay, will be back for sure.

This hotel is good, though it is somewhat out of town. It is walkable but expect a 15/18 euro taxi ride to the centre or to/from the station. It was also good value, though I did stay on a Sunday night which was probably less expensive and therefore worth the 20 euro extra to upgrade to a very big room on the top floor with giant windows an a great view. The breakfast was bit disappointing and probably too dear. But they supply free wifi, unlike some of the big chains who still adopt the indefensible policy of charging. Ideal spot for the big museums, as the name suggests, with the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh very close. Having said all that I think I would stay nearer to town in future. This was a business trip so I asked for a table to be reserved in the lounge area which they did gladly, instead of talking me into renting a meeting room so I have no complaints about the helpful staff.

Room Tip: There are very large rooms on the top floor---decide if it is worth the extra

We stayed at the NH hotel Museaum Quatre for 4-5nights. We had a fabulous time. Pretty area and hotel is super for the price. Recommended and will stay again. We did take breakfast in the morning, as there are so many pretty eateries nearby and wanted to try them, but if you want a fab location and clean rooms - choose here. We also had a beautiful room overlooking the canal. The receptionist even let us check out free of charge at a much later time, thank you!

Good hotel, comfortable room, plenty of space. Close to some attraction points as Van Gogh Museum and others.
The breakfast in the hotel is expensive, but there're many options close by.
Many options for lunch, dinner or just a beer.

Good location on a canal and close to all the museums.
Get a top floor room with floor to ceiling windows giving you a dramatic view across the rooftops of the city.
The room was a good size but needs upgrading soon to prevent it becoming tatty.
Free wifi worked fine.

This place just inches four stars.

On the positive side, its a great location, right next to the canal with a small Juliette balcony looking over the street. 100 yards from the gorgeous Museumplein, and on all of the main tram routes. The communal areas are swanky, and the rooms were modern and stylish with plenty of storage and a good sized bath. It is a competitive price for Amsterdam. The breakfast was stunning, brilliant choice of food and great coffee which you can also take away before you leave the breakfast room. Having a long leisurely breakfast with an English newspaper on the Sunday was a joy, and we didn't eat again until the evening.

Now the negatives....maybe I was just being daft but I couldn't work out how to use the stairs to get to my room! They have a bizarre fire escape/locking door arrangement that meant I had to get the lift to the second floor. My friend has also stayed here, and she got stuck in the fire escape after a few drinks!

Sadly the attitude and number of staff really let this place down. Every time I wanted something, there seemed to be no one, or not enough of them, around. The first time in the breakfast room we seated ourselves in a quiet corner, then were told to move somewhere else. There was never anyone serving at the bar. On the first night when we were tired and ate in the hotel the barmaid seemed to be cooking our food, because she certainly wasnt serving drinks. Finally when we checked out, one of the desk staff was having a long and protracted discussion with a courier as a queue of CUSTOMERS build up and up. Call me a fussy old fruit but these things do really annoy and disappoint me. More to the point, this hotel has the potential to be really great if they brush up in a few areas.
