This bed & breakfast was one of the best highlights of our 3 1/2 week trip to the Baltics. The rooms were very comfortable. Besides the sleeping quarters with private bath, there was a lovely sitting room with a fridge/kitchenette area for you to relax in. I looked forward every day to see what yummy baked treat Peter had left for us for a snack. Breakfasts were the best with a lovely atmosphere to meet the other guests. We all always lost track of time just chatting away. Peter and his staff think of everything you might need and are always helpful with suggestions for sights & travel. Located only a few blocks from Central Station, you can easily get anywhere.Peter's dogs are hysterical and truly make you feel that you are in a home away from home. We missed the morning of Peter's "pancakes", so we'll have to return one day!

Room Tip: Rooms to the back are quieter. You will have to go up a flight of stairs.

we stayed with peter for a 3 night city break in august.
there is nothng more i can say that hasn't been said before.
peter is a warm and generous host that will go the extra mile to help and make you feel comfortable. his knowledge of amsterdam is second to none. his suggestions for where to eat, visit ect are excellent and suitable for most budgets. the breakfasts will keep you full most of the day ( i would advise you allow at least one and half hours for breakfast as there is so much food and the conversation is always stimulating and fun). the cakes upon return are delicious (my favourite was the apple cake). we were given a map of amsterdam and several little gifts as a reminder of our stay which was very generous and above the call or what most would require from a b&b.
as for the rooms, well they were very clean and comfortable. the bed was a delight. boogaard's is set on a quiet street off one of the main canals. we found it very easily and the distance from the train station was only a short walk away even with luggage.
all in all there is nothing i can fault with boogaard's. peter should give master classes in how to run a superb b&b. thank you for a wonderful stay.

Right now I am sitting in "my" living room here at the b and b, relaxing after a day of touring. I am eating a delicious dessert baked by the owner and a coffee that I just made in the kitchenette. The owner, Peter , is such a wonderful man. He truly treats his guests like family. If this is your first b and b, you will be spoiled and never find one like it.....if you have been to others, you will know that this one is the "cream of the crop" Its location is terrific,, the neighborhood is residential and an easy walk to everything including the train station The rooms are great, the beds are so comfortable, the breakfast is a delicious feast and they will do your laundry for you too.Peter can recommend places to eat and provide tips on touring the city. Needless to say, I could stay here indefinitely!!!

Words can't even describe what a great experience this has been, if you are planning to come and visit this city, look no further, book it right away as this treasure can not remain a secret much longer.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great

As the title states, this review is long overdue. My husband and I stayed at Boogaard's for two nights in February and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We wished it were longer. We found Amsterdam most pleasant to visit in the quiet, off season. I cannot add too much to the previous reviewers' posts. Everything is lovely. The rooms are immaculate, and very comfortable. The beds make for a great night's sleep. As much mentioned, one of the best aspects of staying here is the cooking. Breakfasts are thoughtfully prepared, as are afternoon home baked goods which are always in abundance here. Peter is a great ambassador for Amsterdam. His restaurant recommendations are flawless. We ate at two of his suggestions, both were fabulous! He also gave us some great touring tips. One last mention - I had left a pair of socks in our room that were handmade for me by a friend in Denmark right before our arrival in Amsterdam. Peter was wonderful in sending them promptly back to me in the US. I will never forget his thoughtfulness. My brother-in-law is planning to visit Amsterdam around the holidays, we have whole heartedly recommended Boogaard's and hope he will be lucky enough to snag a room. We hope to make it back there one day.

We spent 3 beautiful days in Amsterdam also thanks to Peter and his superb b&b. we were in the apartment on the first floor, very spacious and warm, even if the interior rooms haven't so much light from the windows. Inside there was everything we would want from a home: cosy sofas, elegant furniture, speedy wi fi with a laptop, two tv sets, stereo, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a big fridge stuffed with things to eat and drink. Peter knew that we would be arriving with our 3 children, so he prepared for them milk, chocolate and even two excellent cakes!
The house is in a central, but quiet street, in Jordaan district, far from cheap tourism and close to real Amsterdam life, with its canals, artistic shops and delicious restaurant.
When we left, Peter gave us some little presents, and that was the final touch of one of our best stays ever!

Room Tip: the room with two windows on the street has more light than the other one.

My husband and I staid 3 nights in July!! Honestly guys if you looking for a place to stay while in Amsterdam, don’t think for long- book Boogaard's Bed and Breakfast! I won’t find any negative reasons about this place. Just some highlights:
1. Place is nice and clean. If you need anything you just ask Peter and you will have it!!!
2. Its beer and other drinks in a fridge always available. Sweet treats Peter cooks himself everyday are just divine! And of course nice coffee and heaps of different kind of tea.
3. Breakfasts are delicious and posh!
4. The place in the centre of Amsterdam, close to everything. 5 min walk from main train station which is super convenient.
5. Atmosphere in this place is really nice, friendly, you always feel welcome.
I remember we were leaving early in the morning and Peter was like oh no what about breakfast!! The night before he made us sandwiches, fruits and yogurt and other yummy treats and we took it with us in the morning. Was really nice! Thank you Peter for your hospitality
