What can I say about this beautiful place. Our hosts were the best we have every had. Peter took care of our every need. Peter made this visit to Amsterdam perfect for the 4 of us.
The rooms are decorated beautifully. The breakfasts are wonderful. Snacks in your room, Beer in your room. There was nothing to complain about.,
The best part of this B&B, was that you felt like you were at home.
Thank you Peter and we will definitely return to your beautiful B&B

Room Tip: All the rooms are perfect. If you have a difficult time with stairs then take the lower level

Look no further, but don't miss out so book well in advance. There are 4 guest rooms in all, two on the first floor and the other two on the second floor. All rooms have dog themes, plus 2 of the real thing: adorable and so loved. Peter's attention to detail is phenomenal and he thinks of everything you could possibly need whilst away from home. The guest rooms open off a lounge which is available for your usage, if and when you please. On the second floor, where we stayed in the pug room, their was a wee sink, kettle, glasses and various hot drink items available: packet soup, packet cappuccino, and real coffee, not to mention the sumptuous baked goodies that Peter bakes daily. On one day we chose to skip breakfast and take it on the canal, Peter gave a bottle of Prosecco in lieu of this: a generous gesture, from a generous host!
The rooms are very well appointed, linen salubrious, bed to melt into and a bathroom with toiletries for your use. Peter is a wealth of information and from the moment you arrive he avails himself to make your trip to Amsterdam a truly wonderful experience.
Take note: the breakfast will last you a hardy day of sightseeing, Peter provides you with a handy town map and suggestion, his directions from the station are excellent, so do follow them and best of all, congratulate yourself on finding this gem, you are in for a treat.
A thousand thanks Peter staying at Boogaards made for a lovely time in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: we loved the pug room, 2nd floor up 34 steps, lovely view onto the wee street, quiet and comfortable.

We planned the start date of our recent two week European vacation soley around a five night stay availability at Boogaard's B&B. A little risky maybe but a great decision on our part as the home, the host, and the entire experience far exceeded our high expectations developed from reading glowing Trip Advisor reviews. Successful B&B hosts take many forms and Peter is part good friend, part big brother, and part Jewish mother. He'll take you in and share how he turned a house from 1620 into a cozy home, tell you the history of Amsterdam, recommend great restaurants based on your preferences, give you the inside scoop on tourist sites, both in the city and the surrounding area, and possibly let you scratch the ears of his two sweet dogs. He'll cook you amazing breakfasts and incredible sweeets for room snacking and cluck at you if you don't eat enough. He'll even do your laundry for you. The excellent score and previous reviews are well-deserved and hard earned by Peter. We almost always stay at B&Bs so that we can get to know the people in that particular town or country and to learn about the culture; Amsterdam and The Netherlands would not have been at all the same experience without our stay at Boogaard's.

I am very picky about where I stay and spent alot of time reading through reviews before I picked Boodgaards based on reviews/location/price. Well...everything said in the 5 star ratings is true (and I couldn't have been more pleased).Peter is a fantastic host, story teller, tour advisor, and cook!!! Based on Peter's advice we spent a couple of days doing local activities (day at the zoo and shopping at the open air market) and sent us to a fantastic restaurant. The gourmet home cooked breakfasts are incredible, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the rooms are very clean. I usually stay in a hotel in Amsterdam but after staying at Boogaards, I will not stay in a hotel again. We've already booked out trip for next year. I can't wait ♥

Room Tip: The pug room windows open up to a beautiful cobble stone street. I enjoyed resting in the afternoon w/ the windows open and the sun shining in.

Peter makes a stay in Amsterdam quite special. His home is the most comfortable place to rest and regroup! He not only provides the best breadfast in Europe, he has created quiet, well-apointed sitting rooms, with hot and cold refreshments, books and wifi. Thank you, Peter!

Room Tip: rooms are one or two flights up
