Good location not far from the city center, clean and big rooms, very comfortable beds and pillows.
At the negative side the breakfast was very poor.

I picked this hotel as I was travelling with my mother and I wanted somewhere in a quieter part of Amsterdam. We loved the location - right by the Van Gough museum and Rijksmuseum. The hotel was very quiet and my mother appreciated being in a more residential area. The tram stops were right outside, though we chose to walk most places which wasn't a problem. There is a supermarket very close too, under the museumplein.

It is very easy to find on the 197 bus from the airport... the bus stop is right outside the hotel! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating - nothing was too much bother. The shared facilities were not a problem for us, everything was clean and we never had to queue for the toilet or a shower. Breakfast was good though it is delivered very early, it would have been nice to have the option to have it a little later. The bed was a beautiful antique, though the mattress was very soft, which can be my only major complaint.

Easy to find from Museumplein. We arrived from the airport by taking Bus #197. Location was kind of far from other things. Good walk to Leidsplein. Trams 2 or 5 take you to main parts of city and to Centraal Station in 15mins. We were surprised by the crazy stairway from hell. About 2 feet wide, 25ft tall with steep climb up with narrow turn at the top. From reception are to room was another steep climb. Staff was very nice and spoke good English. The room was small, but comfortable. The bed was comfy, but had no sheet to cover with. There was a small sink in the room. Toilette down the hall was clean, but had poor ventilation. The huge dorm style showers were great for a refreshing shower. Breakfast was brought to the room! It consisted of a slice of ham, a slice of cheese which was not enough for the 4 rolls of bread, jam, chocolate spread, egg, coffee/tea/hot chocolate. More slices of ham and cheese would have made it a great breakfast. Hotel was nice, but we preferred the Budget Hotel Hortus located in a completely different area that was closer to the main action.

Signed up here as it is near museums and rate seemed good. Walk in and you can't believe the stairs, the Leaning Tower of Piza were easier. Shared Toilets when we were there we're unpleasant and one shower was broken. Morning breakfast delivered to room was OK, but the same for 3 days in a row and you have to wait till 8:30-9 am to get it. For the price etc not a value
