If you are looking to stay in a 5 star hotel with a personal touch, the Collector is it!
The 3 rooms are all very spacious and clean with a big bathroom. A direct bus from the airport stops 50 meters from the house, the tram right outside. Nevertheless, since you are in Amsterdam, you should rent a bicycle. The short ride to the city takes you trough the rijksmuseum and then along the grachten.
You can have your breakfast whenever you like with eggs from the chicken in the yard and a more than well stocked kitchen.

We have recently spent 3nts at this lovely b&b . The situation is really good to reach all parts of amsterdam , with the tram near by . It was our 1st visit to amsterdam and we loved it , Karel was very welcoming , and was helpful giving us information on restaurants , taxis etc . During our stay it was my birthday and Karel left some flowers and a happy birthday message in our room , which was a lovely surprise . The room was large and airy with great facilities , including a shared kitchen which was well stocked . If we visited again we would return to this b&b .

I had the front double room and it is large and comfortable with a little balcony. The trams stop running at a certain hour so it is not noisy. The kitchen is stocked with an abundance of food and it is serve yourself. It is a great formula. I would go back here in a heartbeat.

My reluctance to issue a glowing review is purely selfish. If word gets out about this gem I may have difficulty booking a room in the future...but I will take my chances.

Terrific location - just a few blocks away from the museum square, with easy transit to other areas if you don't feel like walking.

The room was light, airy, clean, and spacious; the bed was quite comfortable. Fresh towels were supplied every day.

Proprietor Karel Poels was available to answer all of our questions (he even helped me navigate through a Dutch-only website!) and offered some alternative spots to explore beyond the obvious Amsterdam tourist magnets.

Karel made sure the breakfast essentials were available, so preparing my own morning meal -- which is my preference -- was a breeze.

The Collector, a three room B&B, is a well kept clean home close to all sites in Amsterdam. Karl, the proprietor is a wealth of knowledge, just ask.
The rooms are large with each having its own private bathroom and shower, daily fresh lush towels. The communal kitchen is well stocked, the fresh Dutch cheese and bread is fantastic.
Our 5 day stay was only too short, our morning breakfast with other guests was warming and rewarding. Our home in Amsterdam, thanks, Karl

Everything is fantastic! Spacious clean rooms with comfortable beds and large showers. A shared kitchen between three rooms which is fully stocked and you can eat when you want. The rooms are bright with the large windows and comfortable to sit around in the kitchen or your balcony. Karel is very helpful with advice and the B&B has maps, tour books, guides etc. If you need laundry done....no problem and no extra cost.....it's included.....comes back all nicely folded. The boy who does the cleaning is very helpful and pleasant as well. We spent 5 nights here and highly recommend the place.

Room Tip: All three rooms are equal - just decorated differently by the collector.
