“A pleasant stay with my wife in the heart of Jordaan”
Reviewed 8 January 2010

I spend the very first days of the year in Amsterdam with my wife. We chose this B&B in the heart of the Jordaan area. We found the hospitality of Charlotte and Paul very warm and the place clean and cosy. The breakfast offered was rich and plenty. The owner, Charlotte, gave us all the information and help needed. We had a wonderful time!

Charlotte's Jordann B&B was a great experience. After arriving we ambled throughout the streets of Amsterdam until finally emerging at Charlotte's place. I really enjoyed our quiet quaint location just west of the city center but within easy walking distance to everything. We took the local tram and busses that were just west of the B&B. Charlotte was very accommodating and gave us great advice on places to go and see. There is a local grocery store and coffee shop just north of the B&B on a parallel street for stocking up on snacks and goodies. On New Year's Eve Charlotte directed us to a local gathering that had the most incredible fireworks display I've ever seen. Overall a great stay at a great location with a great host. Wish I could have stayed longer.

B&B Jordaan is not only an excellent B&B in one of the most lively and interesting area of Amsterdam, it is also a great experience in itself. Charlotte and Paul run the place with love, care and attention, providing you with all sort of advice and support.
The Jordaan area is great, full of restaurants, interesting shops and with a lively taste of what really makes Amsterdam a unique capital in the world: a cosmopolitan place where local life is not erased by mass tourism.
We spent 10 days with two children (5 and 9 years old) and we really had a great time, thanks to Charlotte and Paul who made every possible effort to suggest us the best choices, routes, happenings etc.
I honestly recommend it as the best B&B we have ever been.

Small B&B in the lovely residential neighborhood of Jordaan. We stayed 3 nights; had our two best meals of the 16 day trip in small neighborhood cafes here. It's easy to get anywhere in Amsterdam by foot, tram or bus from here. The owners were on holiday, but their backup host was very helpful. No common areas, but excellent breakfast brought to our room each day.

This B&B is warmly recommended for its homely atmosphere and service, but perhaps above all for being a comfortable and quiet hideaway in what we saw as the best possible location in Amsterdam. Right down the streets are loads of authentic cafés, galleries and restaurants. In other words: you don't want to live any closer to the centre. This B&B is really close to everything: the cruise boats, the Anne Frank Museum, tram lines and lots of other sites. Also, do not hesitate to follow the advice of the host - we certainly found them all well worth the while.
We had the bottom level room, which is very nice not least because of its huge windows facing a nice, private garden. The bathroom was very clean and appeared to be newly renovated. You are served a hearty breakfast and the host will research everything that she does not know on the spot.

An extremely comfortable and convenient place to stay in the artistic Jordaan quarter of Amsterdam but only a few minutes walk from the rail station and the centre of the city. The area is renowned for it's beautiful canals, cafe's, quiet bars and good restaurants and this B&B is well paced in the centre of this part of the city. If you like a picturesque, artistic and cultural setting head this way.
