We stayed here 3 nights in June 2012. Hotel location very good and by the canal. The hotel is very clean. We requested lower floor and the room was at the front overlooking canal where there were car parking facilties. Only trouble was didn't get much sleep sat and sun because of people passing till all hours(up to 5.30am) and people slamming car doors etc. We had 2 rooms, and although we were satisfied with our room, we were not impressed with our friend's room. The radiator in his room wasn't working which he reported on the Sunday( morning after we arrived). There were feeble replies but no action or any interest to sort it out and nothing was done up to when we left on Tues.Had the weather been better it may not have been a problem, but it had rained non stop for 2 days, and was quite chilly in the morning and evening and with the soggy wet clothes that would not dry, it was not very pleasant. He had also been given 2 remote controls for the TV and neither worked, at which point he gave up. The only plug point for his room was under the bed. There were no wardrobes in either room( though there was space to have one) and lack of hooks etc made it difficult to know where to put things.

Myself and my partner stayed at The Quentin Hotel for 3 nights in June 2012!

First thing to say is that the hotel is in a fantastic location! It is in Leidesplein which is a lively part of Amsterdam! The hotel was overlooking a canal which was nice!

We only stayed room only so I cannot rate the food!

The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming! There was a nice reception area! The stairs were steep to get to the other floors but you got used to them and there was a lift so this wouldn't be a problem! We had a economy double room! It was small but suited us as we were only in there to get ready and sleep! The bed was comfy and the shower was powerful! It wasn't too expensive so you can't expect too much!

Overall had a pleasant stay at this hotel!

Just a few things you should go to when in Amsterdam! You have to go to the Heineken experience, even if you don't like beer, trust me you will enjoy this! We did the Amsterdam dungeons which was good fun but a bit scary, lol! Madam Tausauds was a good afternoon out! We went to the Ajax Stadium but i found this really boring but that might be because im a woman! Haha! We couldn't get to see Anne Franks house as the queue was always too long and the weather wasn't too good! You have to go to the red light district, it is not as seedy as you might think! The highlight for us was the pizza canal cruise! It cost 35 euros each and we got on the boat at 7pm! The cruise only lasted an hour and a half but you got nibbles on your table and all the wine, beer and soft drinks you could drink in that time! You got a pizza of your choice followed by a Ben & Jerrys ice cream! The staff were brilliant, we wanted to stay on the boat all night!

I would recommend The Quentin Hotel, it was good value for money :0)

The breakfast room was nice but too small for the number of rooms/people in the the hotel. The room was very hot during the night, needed a bit of ventilation.
Otherwise the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean, and it was nice to have a bathroom and shower in the room.
The location was very convenient and the employees friendly.
