“Good location, but...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013 via mobile

This hotel is in a very good location, there are some great bars up the street and it's close to the shopping, right on the canal. We did manage to get a canal view room for the price of a normal room - after much pressing! Friendly staff, bog standard and basic room, very small and not a double bed, 2 pushed together. But it's warm, you have your own toilet, a good shower and it's a good location. Just don't stay here for a cosy romantic night! It's a bed for the night...that's it! We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that!

My friend & I came to Amsterdam to visit Melkweg as my favourite band Venice were playing there. It is a stone's throw from this brilliant concert venue, and the Hotel staff are friendly and very welcoming and helpful. Yes, rooms are small BUT the rooms are immaculately clean and I slept well every night in the very comfortable bed. My friends had travelled for our holiday from Cyprus and was constantly cold when we were out but the Hotel do not skimp on the heating and she was warm as toast inside. Fab location on the canal. For the price, it's a little gem!

Room Tip: Top floor (4th) was nice and quiet as nobody above.

Very basic hotel, but then again, at the price it's worth staying there for the location alone. Very easy to find and close to all important areas. Would opt out of breakfast, it's not worth the money.

If you're only searching for a bed to sleep on at night for low prices and still stay in the center - this is the hotel for you. The room was a little small and the smell wasn't great, but the bed was fine, the bathroom was clean and overall we had expected a lot worst for this price. Also, they were kind enough to leave us little gifts and helped us to get around in the city. One tip - stay away from the breakfast.

Room Tip: Rumor has it that the -1 floor rooms, where we stayed, are bigger.

Staff friendly till you show them the room is a deplorable.this is the dirtiest hotel room I've ever stayed in. I would not recommend this hotel for any amount of money. The walls have holes in them and are half painted. There are better rooms around for the same price $130.00. For all those who back packed in the 80's this place is like a room in kings cross Sydney. They need to clean up there act I doubt they will.

For €70 a night you can't get much for 2 people in Amsterdam centrum and this location on Prisengracht can't be beaten. Heaps of restaurants nearby and a 10 walk to the Rijksmuseum and canal boat cruises.
The bed was fine and we slept well with earplugs as it could sometimes be noisy from the corridor and neighbours. The bathroom was fine - fairly modern - and room servicing happened every day without any issues.
Not much space for bags but we moved some chairs and made it all fit.
We liked the opening window so we got fresh air and the wifi was usually good too (just one day with glitches).

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor and think that kept the noise level down (as none from above).

Positive:
The location near Leidseplein was excellent. A lot of restaurants and cafes close to the hotel. But the hotel was located in a silence part of the street, that was nice.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
Cleaning was good, a lot of new towels every day.
Negative:
Very small rooms, even if you are a romantic couple ;) Not much place for our suitcases...
The lift wasn`t running fast....
Breakfast was disappointing. We bought our own breakfast in a cafe after the first day, so you can spare the money!
The bathroom coud use a upgrade....but ok for toilet and shower

Not very expensive hotel, good location, so for sleeping and shower one weekwnd it`s ok!
