We have stayed only 1 night in hotel Titus. Its location is very good (near Leidseplein), which is very close to the city centre as well as provides direct transport to/from airport. Hotel is situated in quite street nex to the canal. Rooms are quite clean, but very simple furnished (but for our one night stay it was ok). some of them are on 4th floor with narrow access to them which could be uncomfortable for some tourists. breakfast was served in breakfastroom at the ground floor, only problem was, that number of guests definitelly exceeded capacity of this room, so some of us had to wait until other are done :) hotel staff was nice and helpfull. Generally I would evaluate this hotel as good but a little overpriced for the level of service that they provide.

Room Tip: In order to prevent drawing your baggage upstairs try to pick lower floors. Room no 24 (and probably...

We were four in the room, we knew that it would only be to sleep and it was. The room was not huge but it was clean and the hotel is well located so it is a good quality / price compromise.

the location is top. right in the heart of amsterdam. the room has the size of not even 8 m2. the matresses are old and worn out. the room is too small for this price. reception was friendly, breakfast was ok.

The hotel overlooks a canal and is very near to Leidsplein and the tram stops (about 2 minutes walk) which makes for easy mobility. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was simple but tasteful. The only inconvenience was the shared bathroom located on the first floor (we were on the second floor) which meant trudging up the steep flight of stairs multiple times if there was someone occupying it. There's a toilet on each floor though. No problem with bed bugs. Room was cleaned every day. All in all, a really pleasant hotel to stay in at an affordable price! Would stay there again if I were to go back :)

On arrival it didn't look that nice from the outside and to be honest it wasn't very nice on the inside either.

We had a basement room with a shared bathroom and the steps were very steep to get down the stairs. Our room was clean and had room to move about in. We also had a small square area to sit out on through the large windows, but you had to climb onto the ledge to get out.

The shower and toilet were clean but the toilet room is ridiculously small! My knees hit of the door when I sat down.

Breakfast was basic but nice. Not much of a range and the eggs had obviously been boiled for a long time but it was alright.

Staff were also very helpful, as they let us use their printer for our boarding passes.

Location is great, busy square round the corner and not too far from some of the sites and a bike rental place.

Room Tip: Ask for an en-suite!

The hotel faces onto the canal and there is some parking directly outside. We checked in and were given our key to Room 12 on the first floor. The stairs to the bedrooms are very steep as mentioned in other reviews. Outside our room were bags of used bedding that were waiting to be taken away but worryingly they were never collected for the duration of our stay and in fact ended up getting more bags piled on top of them, (a possible fire hazard?)
We had asked for an double room with en-suite when we booked. Our room consisted of 3 single beds, 2 were pushed side by side to make the double. We had a large walk in bathroom / wet room. The shower area was very clean. The sink was inside the shower which made it a little difficult if you needed to use it after showering! The room itself was spacious and had a small wardrobe with a safe and a small TV. There was a 'dressing table' of sorts with a plastic chair folded away in the wardrobe. The plugs were in obscure place behind the curtains making it difficult for using my hairdryer which I had taken with me just in case one wasn't available from the hotel. The decor left a lot to be desired and on the morning we left we actually had some water dripping from the room above us onto our carpet. It was fairly noisy at night with people coming up the stairs and using the shared bathroom which was outside our room. Breakfast consisted of bread, ham & cheese with boiled eggs. There was also jam and chocolate spread available. There were several choices of cereal and juices. Coffee came from a machine but was lovely. Quite a basic breakfast but was enough to keep us going for the morning.
For those wanting the Melkweg & Paradiso then this is the perfect spot, with the Melkweg being a minutes walk around the corner and the Paradiso about 5 minutes walk away, also the Leidseplein is a lively area and is just around the corner ( bars & restaurants) There are trams that runs directly from the Leidseplein to the train station and they take about 15 minutes.(Nos 1, 2 & 5)

So would we stay here again? Probably not, it is pricey for what you get but then everything seemed to be on the expensive side

Room Tip: Try to choose a room with an ensuite, I know for definate that Rooms 12 & 13 have this. Apparent...
