Stayed at this hotel for a weekend trip to Amsterdam. We booked through Expedia and got a really good deal because it was on offer. When we first got there we were told we had a non smoking room we asked if we could have a smoking one and they arranged this and changed the room! Brilliant service. Great location, not far from the train station or red light district! 10 mins max! I was a bit worried about the location because of the reviews but people just like to moan.. Had a lovely room was massive! The view from the window was so nice. Looking over the canal! The staff was really helpful and friendly. The bed was amazing! So comfy and it was massive I didn't want to leave it.Ignore all the bad reviews people just moan about everything. I definitely would stay again and would recommend it!

Room Tip: We was on the ground floor and it overlooked the canal!

Stayed here for 3 nights and were very happy with our choice. Comfortable walk from the station even with suitcases, and an easy walk to all the sites of Amsterdam. Very helpful check in and bell-staff. Our room was on the fourth floor, very quiet and nice views of the canal. Spacious room, extremely comfy bed and great bathroom, plus free wifi - what more do you need for a city break! The free mini-bar is a great bonus (after pounding the streets for hours). The hotel restaurant and bar looked very nice, as did the leisure facilities, although we didn't use any of them. Only slight point - some towel hooks in the bathroom would be good. We are happy to reuse towels but there was nowhere to hang them to dry so you had no choice but to fold them over the edge of the bath so the eager cleaners change them twice daily! We would certainly stay here again when we come to Amsterdam.

The Amrâth brings you back to the Golden days of transatlantic shipping but with all the modern amenities.
The décor is grandiose : a fantastic mix of Art Nouveau and the Années Folles.
The transformation of previous headquarters into a hotel has left the setting with cashieŕs windows, office corridors, marble floors whilst the expected modern comfort has been integrated.
Two steps away from the Central Station, the Amrâth is not along the path taken by throngs of tourists or workers.
I strongly recommend ! PTH

Unfortunately we had a local power cut on the morning we stayed, so breakfast was by candle light, no coffee available but it was not the hotels fault. Our room was in total darkness as we packed to leave as I had not read the information book that the curtains were worked by remote control. Would have been handy to leave a notice on the table. The bathroom was fabulous with double hand basins and both shower and bath. We did use the sauna, pool and jacuzzi which were excellent, however although the pool area is open from very early morning, there was sign saying no staff were on duty until 11am on Sunday, slightly worrying if you are on your own. We had asked for a double room but were given two beds pushed together. Still rate this hotel and would stay again.

Grand Amrath is an old historic shipping office that was converted a few years ago into a boutique hotel. The location is convenient to the central station and is minutes walk to the hustle and bustle of centrum Amsterdam. It is located close to all the action but far enough for you to enjoy some quietness and serenity. I have stayed multiple times in this hotel and it's become my hotel of choice. Each room and suite is unique with high ceilings, modern amenities, and a free mini bar. The staff is friendly and low key. There is a gym and spa. The breakfast buffet is a nice mix of foods, with great dutch cheeses and pancakes. Great place to start enjoying the walking/biking experience of Amsterdam.

Reception:- efficient, polite, helpful and smiling. These are people actually looked happy to welcome you which I find makes a change as quite often I find some hotel reception staff can be rather abrupt.

The hotel:- beautiful its amazing.

Room:- 3rd floor was delighted to see such a spacious, spotless room. The bed wow so comfortable. Shower, bath and even my favorite toiletries. The mini bar was a very nice finish.

Food:- we did not eat in hotel as we were away on my sons 21st.

Spa:- 2 days in amsterdam and not enough time to use.

Finally:- if I go back to Amsterdam without a shadow of a doubt I would stay at this hotel and use all their facilities. Wonderful stay. Thank you so much. One more thing perfect location.
