Overall, this was a very nice, comfortable apartment in a good location which I would highly recommend. If you want more detail then please read on...
Facilities - The apartment had a pretty open layout, with no door between the bedroom and living area, only a dividing wall. Some might say this was a disadvantage but personally I think sealing off the room would have made the rooms feel more claustrophobic. The kitchenette, dining and living area were all in one. The furniture was solid and comfortable and generally the apartment was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was modern and the shower was a diversion from a mixer tap which meant that it had a good level of power and the temperature was easy to adjust which was great.
The kitchenette had a senseo coffee machine, which was a bit curious but was fine, a kettle, a combination microwave/ oven/ grill, a hob, a dishwasher and all the utensils and cockery etc that you would need. I found that a toaster and cafetiere was missing. They also only provide dishwasher tablets which means that you can't wash anything in singular items or have anything to wipe down surfaces with etc unless you bought cleaning things yourself.
The bed was comfortable and there was a large wardrobe in the bedroom for storage.
Staff - there is no 'on hand' staff as it were, the key and a helpful introduction letter are available in the lobby area when you arrive. There is a phone in the room to ring staff based at the sister hotel if needed, though we never used this. The apartment had some cleaning daily which consisted of straightening the bed, topping up some of the tea/ coffee supplies and hoovering.
Location - We got the bus from the airport to the hotel (the 197) which costed 5EUR each and stopped about 200m from the apartments which was great. The apartments are located in a residential street very close to the Museumplein (where there are several museums) and there are a few good restaurants nearby. This means that there are things to do close by but it lacks the tourist hustle and bustle, which we prefer. It does however mean it's about a 30 minute walk into the more central parts of Amsterdam. It's a pretty straightforward route though, and I tended to orientate myself by the Rijksmuseum. There is a supermarket very close by which was great for picking up supplies on our first night and had everything you would need - they don't take credit cards though so make sure you have cash (there is a cash machine on the main street on the way though).
