“Great modern apartment”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

Overall, this was a very nice, comfortable apartment in a good location which I would highly recommend. If you want more detail then please read on...

Facilities - The apartment had a pretty open layout, with no door between the bedroom and living area, only a dividing wall. Some might say this was a disadvantage but personally I think sealing off the room would have made the rooms feel more claustrophobic. The kitchenette, dining and living area were all in one. The furniture was solid and comfortable and generally the apartment was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was modern and the shower was a diversion from a mixer tap which meant that it had a good level of power and the temperature was easy to adjust which was great.

The kitchenette had a senseo coffee machine, which was a bit curious but was fine, a kettle, a combination microwave/ oven/ grill, a hob, a dishwasher and all the utensils and cockery etc that you would need. I found that a toaster and cafetiere was missing. They also only provide dishwasher tablets which means that you can't wash anything in singular items or have anything to wipe down surfaces with etc unless you bought cleaning things yourself.

The bed was comfortable and there was a large wardrobe in the bedroom for storage.

Staff - there is no 'on hand' staff as it were, the key and a helpful introduction letter are available in the lobby area when you arrive. There is a phone in the room to ring staff based at the sister hotel if needed, though we never used this. The apartment had some cleaning daily which consisted of straightening the bed, topping up some of the tea/ coffee supplies and hoovering.

Location - We got the bus from the airport to the hotel (the 197) which costed 5EUR each and stopped about 200m from the apartments which was great. The apartments are located in a residential street very close to the Museumplein (where there are several museums) and there are a few good restaurants nearby. This means that there are things to do close by but it lacks the tourist hustle and bustle, which we prefer. It does however mean it's about a 30 minute walk into the more central parts of Amsterdam. It's a pretty straightforward route though, and I tended to orientate myself by the Rijksmuseum. There is a supermarket very close by which was great for picking up supplies on our first night and had everything you would need - they don't take credit cards though so make sure you have cash (there is a cash machine on the main street on the way though).

Room Tip: The building has 10 apartments distributed over 5 floors including a basement. The lower floors have...

We rented a studio - which we didn't realise was in the basement, so whilst it was a bit dark - it was very well equipped and perfect for a short stay. The kitchen was well equipped with new appliances - but it would have been helpful to have some guides on how to use some of the equipment. Also, there was only one easy chair - a small sofa might have been better. But the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom superb, with a nice deep bath to help ease the effect of pavement pounding. The location is also excellent, very close to the museums. We had no difficulty with the fact that the staff were remote, and a problem we had was dealt with quickly and effectively. It would have been nice to have somewhere secure to leave luggage on checkout day. Wifi service was excellent

We had 4 nights in Amsterdam and this was the perfect place to stay for us. It had everything we needed and we felt at home. It is a great location close to the Museums and tram system and we could easily walk to everywhere without any trouble. We had a suite on the 3rd floor but as there is an elevator it was no problem. It is a quiet residential neighbourhood and our windows opened to the back. We were happy to make our own meals especially breakfast and with the grocery store 2 blocks away we just picked stuff up on our way back to the flat. It was very comfortable and the hotel that manages the apartments were easily contacted by intercom or phone and were very helpful. The hotel is only a few tram stops so we took our bags there after we checked out and before our flight. I would definitely stay here again.

we moved to this flat after we found that our hotel was way too expensive and far from the centre, and i wish i have booked this place from the beginning but it was half business trip half leisure.
the apartment is bigger than a hotel room, has a modern kitchen and bathroom, gets cleaned and towels changed every day. good location as it's 1 minutes walk for a street with lot of restaurants and cafes, one big supermarket is at 10 minutes walk, the Rijks and Van Gogh museum 15 minutes, and the tram station is like 3 minutes walk, so fantastic location !
the building doesn't have a reception on-site ,but they're a phone call away and always very happy to help.
we were provided with cot bed for our little one that was already in the room when we arrived. Wifi is already included in the price and TV has few english channels so you wouldn't miss the news etc, the kitchen has a fridge, microwave/oven, hob , dish washer and a senseo coffee machine, hair dryer and buetooth music player are also provided and i don't remember if an iron was there too. in the bathroom you have hand washing liquid and shampoo and body gel dispensers, shower caps too :) . Overall we were really pleased with the service we received and i highly recommend it.

Room Tip: we were in apartment 5 with big windows which i liked

Stayed here for 3 nights in a room on the second floor. The hotel is located in Museumplein, close to several art museums and in a quiet street. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle. I felt safe despite no reception. The room is great - big, quiet, comfy beds and gets cleaned daily. Take bus 197 from airport to Museumplein. It's €5 each way. Take a right on Van Baerlestraat and then a right on Nicolaas Maestraat. It's a 5 minute walk from the stop. Trams are really close by, too. The only thing to note is A/C. Not sure the rooms have it so check if you come during summer. We didn't need it as the weather was pleasant and there was a fan. I would stay here again. It was fantastic!

The apartments are very well located for visiting Rejks museum, Van Gogh museum, mosern art museum and Concert Gebauw. Clean, well furnished, fresh. I had only one problem - total idiot at the reception, now the reception is not at the property, it is 10 km away. You connect to the reception by ringing the bell next to the entrance door.

Unfortunately for me the person who answered my call could not find my fully prepaid reservation. This type of things happen, but this one did not want to make an effort to investigate the issue, just kept telling me to go away because he had no record of my reservation and the property was sold out, he refused to buzz me into the lobby. Finally another guest came out and let me in, then I found inside an envelope with my name and the keys to the apartment. So it all ended well. I did call from the road few hours earlier to tell the property exactly when I am coming and confirmed the details so that must have helped to prepare an envelope for me, but when you run into a receptionist who is really indifferent to the fact that he is sending out on the street without a place to stay after you paid for it, there are not many things you can do to secure your stay.
