Stayed here for 3 nights. Reception was extremely friendly! Gave me lots of useful information for getting around Amsterdam. The room was compact with everything you could possible need. Had a really good nighrs sleep on the bed, extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean and luxurious. Overall a great short stay. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are more spacious.

3,5 stars if possible

+ clean, comfy beds, good AC, pretty nice view on top floors
- lots of weird people in neighbourhood and hotel guests, check in en out process was slow due to one person staffing and answering calls first

Room Tip: get a room on higher floors, view is pretty good

Yes the Hotel is out of the centre, but only 15 - 20 mins on the Tram or Bus which are every 10 mins and you get to see more of the city too. The 3 day travel passes are great, get one from the Train station. Don't spend 40 euro's for airport transfer, get a train from the airport to Sloterdijk Railway station and then bus 15 to Bos en lommerplein (1 stop) - 6 euro's total, so simple and about 30 mins in total. The Hotel is very good, reception staff were all very helpful and nice. Rooms are spacious & clean, with dark rosewood furnishings which is different for a chain hotel. Worst thing about room & hotel is the temperature/air conditioning, won't go below 18 degrees! Asked for a fan at front desk which solved the problem! Breakfast was good and served up to 11, so no need to rush if you don't want to! Loads of shops and supermarkets in the local to if you need something. Safe area, even at night time! Would definately stay again if in the city.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet, but go high for a view of the city floor 7 - 9

We booked this hotel a week before our trip to Amsterdam. We were a group of 6 people and we booked our flights in the beginning of Jan. I didn't know that Holland has a bank holiday in the time of our trip. It was very difficult to find a good hotel in the reasonable price and distance. Blue Tower hotel was the best option and we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. Receptionist was very professional and the rooms were very well organised and clean. We would definitely come back to this hotel.

We booked a triple and a double room for a group of 5, but ended up getting 2 triple bed rooms. Rooms were clean with desk, tea/coffee making facilities in room, aircon, hair dryer in bathroom. Towels changed, tea/coffee refilled everyday. Bathroom stocked with shampoo, showergel, soap. Refilled everyday. We were on second floor so not much in terms of views. If you would like rooms with views go for higher floors. there are good eateries locally open till late. The only downside is slightly outside of being central to Amsterdam. Overall though it was a comfortable stay.

We stayed for three days end of May. Not a 4 star hotel 3 at a push. Hotel photos misleading, never found the so called bar and nowhere to relax downstairs unless you sit in the foyer.
We got a train from airport to Sloterdjiik station 3.30 euros then number 15 bus one stop to hotel, 35 mins door to door.
Mainly social housing In an Islamic neighbourhood and far too far from main areas to pop back to hotel. 20min ride to main areas but a pain if you just want to pop out to a bar.
Breakfast was a revelation for 10 euros and excellent value for money.
We were on 10th floor and would have hated to have been on a lower floor looking at the motorway or blocks of flats. Room was clean and beds comfortable.
Air conditioning does not go lower than 18 degrees which was far too hot for us and a fan was supplied for rest of stay, must be a problem as i saw lots of people obtaining fans.
We will be going back but will pay extra money for a better location

Room Tip: Higher up the better

We stayed at the Blue Tower for 3 nights at the end of May. On arrival we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff who quickly booked us in. When I booked the package with BA I didn't really worry too much about location as it was a Best Western Hotel and I assumed that BA would have some standards. The room was a deluxe room which we had upgraded to at no extra cost it was nicely furnished and surprisingly the bed was very comfortable. We were on the 10th floor and there were 3 lifts servicing this area. The room had great views of the west of the city.

We booked breakfast on arrival and it was good, a continental selection including cheeses, cereals, breads, pastries and some hot food choices too. Very good value for 10 euros per person.

I can't fault the hotel but would just say that you must be prepared to travel in and out of the city via bus (21) or the tram. Tickets were purchased on the bus for up to 1 hour of travel or you could buy 24 hour tickets in the ticket offices which were great for getting about.

On the way we got the train from Schipol to Amsterdam, Central and then bus to the hotel, we opted for a taxi to the airport on our return which at 40 euros was reasonable.

The hotel is out of the city and is in a residential/shopping area. Plenty of shops/cash machines if you need it!
