I go to Amsterdam twice and year for 3 to 4 days and I go to this place everynight. There's never more than a 5 min wait. It is real formica tables. A starter, a main course and a coke costs about €16. Don't go in a big crowd (by this I mean any more than 2 people) as you'll never get a table (the whole cafe holds 20 people). beware in summer it can get really hot as they cook right next the table.

There are two Bird Thais opposite each other. One is snack the other a full Restrant. We went to the latter which was excellent. Good service, nice food, a little pricey but worth it...

Best Thai in Amsterdam IMHO. The wait to get a table was about 20 minutes at 8 pm, but when we did sit, we had quick and excellent service. Tasty food, good drinks, smiles on all the waitstaff. We left food on our plates as we could not eat the huge portions. There are two Bird Restaurants. This one is a quick take-away restaurant, and across the street is the sit down restaurant. The Snackbar Bird is quick and a little bit cheaper. We liked the sit down one.

Found some reviews on the Internet that suggested this was the place to go for good Thai. Very very small place. Cheerful service. Seems like everyone that works there is related. Very good, fresh Thai food. I sat on one of the window seats and watched peope bike by. Cool.

I love thai food and this little place made my day when i was travelling around amsterdam. i am due to go back very soom and i will definatly be paying them another visit
