What makes a good dining experience? Atmosphere, decor, food or company? It's a combination of all the above plus many more factors perhaps too fleeting to mention here.
Whatever it is. This place has it and in abundance.
We'd been in the area for a week and hadn't seen this venue despite it being opposite De Italiaan and adjacent to Café Toussaint.
The decor is beige and darker colours with the specials boards tucked behind wall lights for a little security.
Our waitress was friendly and very pleasant, despite me being a little undecided whether to eat outside or within the restaurant and finally opting for indoors to soak up the ambience. It turned out to be the best decision.
Ok, so the food. My vegetable croquettes starter was delicious. My main course of beef teriyaki cooked to perfection. My partner's beef 'au point' and again the best we've had in Amsterdam this week.
I was too full for dessert.
Seriously I suggest you visit this fantastic place.
