The dining area is cozy and very interesting. Lots of beautiful copper! The meal was very good . . . a bit pricey. One odd thing was that I ordered a Bloody Mary. I was brought a glass with ice, a bottle of tomato juice, vodka, a bottle of Worcestershire sauce . . . you get the idea. It was a DIY Bloody Mary! Not a big deal - just different.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but chose to eat there one evening .We chose it because from the outside it looked smart and welcoming on a busy, hot evening in Amsterdam.
There were very few people eating there whilst we were there- and maybe we know why! We ordered sea bass (25,50euros) and stuffed zucchini (17.50 euros) which were in the main meals and which stated at the bottom of the menu , all main meals have vegetables and potatoes. We waited a long time for our dishes( fortunately we had ordered a starter which was an excellent bowl of pea soup , delicious-although this was billed as 9.50 euros, when it was priced at 6.50 euros on the menu).
The food arrived without veg or potatoes - a tiny piece of sea bass, and under cooked half of zucchini , with unappetising dollops of filling on top - each dish had 5 french beans and one asparagus spear. When we questioned the veg situation, we were told only steak had accompanying veg and potatoes (this was not how it was presented on the menu) On questioning the situation, bowl of chips was brought to us - all very dissappointing, and expensive , ie overpriced .
The head waiters attitude was very- complacent, smug. A really dissappoinitng experience. and as tourists, leaving us feeling ripped off in a major city.

The food was quite nice in general but it was overpriced for what it was, and the service was quite poor - slow, inattentive, and not overly friendly.
