“Welcome to Indonesia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

We made the booking online. Visited with two friends from India who had also lived in Singapore for a number of years so knew about authentic Indonesian food. They loved it as did we. We had the vegetarian rijsttafel 3courses. It was very good, great mixture of tastes, variety of vegetables and different forms of tofu. Plenty food for four people only needed to order more rice to finish off the dishes. Sweet was also very good. The service was excellent the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Good atmosphere and never aware of people at other tables, no intrusive music, no need to shout at each other to be heard. The bill was very reasonable. Will defiantly be back.

“Good Indonesian dinner adventure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

Great "rijsttafel" and attentive waiters. If you're interested in Indonesian food, this may be a very good place to go in Amsterdam.
With a nice chickens soup for starters and a tasty portion of different Sateh (roasted skewers) the main course rijsttafel was served. Lots of small dishes, meat, chicken, fish, shrimp. The food was more than enough.
Have a cold beer (or two) with it and enjoy.
Will go back.

“True Indonesian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014

Quality food, and the tasting menu gives a perfect selection of different dishes (prawns, beef, lamb and chicken) some very spicy some mild and sweet.
Location is ok and walking distance to the city centre.
I was not impressed by the atmosphere, but the service was good.

“Good introduction to rijsttafel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

Constance and I were looking forward to an Indonesian/Dutch rijsttafel while in Amsterdam and Long Pura got the nod as our most local place. The "one course" version for 25 Euro per person was enough food for two little pigs, but can be embellished with extra dishes if needed. It features a couple of pork dishes and one each with beef, lamb, chicken thighs, and veg, plus boiled eggs in a spicy coconut sauce, peanutty gado gado, little side dishes of pickled veg, fried soy beans (we had to look up what these were on the web after having puzzled over them in the bowl and to the taste) and roasted conocut, and a generous serve of rice. A few of the dishes had a full-on hit of fire to them and a couple were a bit ordinary. The waiters dress in Balinese outfits, the blokes in sarongs and headbands, and were very polite. The service was prompt and, all up, if not completely rocking our world, we enjoyed the food and the experience.

“Good food; attentive service; highly recommend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2014

The food was very good and the options for multi-course meals on the menu were great! Price was very good for what you got and better than most in Amsterdam. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, the tables are properly spaced to allow you to have a private conversation and not feel cramped or as if you are part of the conversation at the next table. The waitstaff were very attentive, polite and genuinely interested in making sure you had a good experience. Highly recommend this restaurant.
