The apartment is on the second floor of the building, accessed by an internal spiral stairway, but otherwise self-contained. Mathilde lives on the ground floor and lets rooms on the first floor, so the front door is a common access point. The apartment itself is certainly bright and cheerful, with natural light through two big windows (living room and bedroom). It is modern and very well designed, with an exceptionally well-quipped kitchen. Mathilde provided some breakfast food supplies, and syrup biscuits for an extra treat. There are restaurants nearby and 2 supermarkets in easy walking distance, the city centre is readily accessible by tram (stop 3 or 4 minutes walk), and the trains (station 7 or 8 minutes walk) all stop at Schiphol airport. I would recommend the apartment without hesitation to any couple, provided the staircase would not present a problem to them.
This apartment is the perfect place to stay if visiting Amsterdam. It is clean and comfortable with all toiletries and tea /coffee provided. The location is excellent - just a short train journey from Schipol airport and very close to a tram stop. We found the tram to be the handiest form of transport into the city centre. There are a number of supermarkets close to the apartment and a selection of restaurants nearby which works out cheaper than eating in the centre of Amsterdam. The apartment has everything you need to prepare meals. It was nice to come back to the apartment in the evening to eat and relax in front of the TV after walking around all day. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Amsterdam. The owner Mathilde was very welcoming to us and provided us with lots of useful information. NB, the apartment is accessed via a steep winding staircase so be aware of this if you have any mobility issues.
