The good bits - the restaurant provided very good food at sensible prices. The rooms were also reasonably well equipped and large, although some of that space could have been better used to make the bathrooms a little larger than they are - they are rather cramped.
The hotel is perfectly positioned for anyone wishing to use the Zandvoort motor racing track - the main entrance to the track is litterally opposite the hotel's main entrance.
Every hotel seems to offer "free wi-fi" these days and so they should - it is an essential part of every day life. However there is also now a trend to offer a totally insecure, and therefore useless, wi-fi - which doesn't work with most email providers etc - and then charge anyone who needs a normal secure connection for the privilege of being able to use what all would expect to have for no cost.
Here the charge for the secure wi-fi was over 9 Euros a day - which is a rip-off - so I refused to pay it and ran up the roaming charges on my mobile phone - which was much cheaper.
There must be a level at which ridiculously high charges for something that should be offered for no cost are not going to pay these hotels anything; no-one is going to pay these sorts of charges these days.
One other problem we noticed, both in the room and in the corridors etc was a smell of cigarette smoke although this is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. I don't know if this is specific to this hotel or a problem in The Netherlands generally, but it was not pleasant to have to endure other people's anti-social smoking habits.
Moan over, we had a good time, the food was excellent, and, overall, we will go back there again next time in Zandvoort - let's hope that in the meantime they adopt a more realistic approach to wi-fi...

Dear guest,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Trip Advisor.

Good to hear that you satisfied about our restaurant, rooms and the location.

Regarding the Wi-Fi, we do have free basic Wi-Fi which allows you to read your email and visit websites.
However, once you would like to watch some movies or download presentations we advise you our premium Wi-Fi which costs €9,90 per 24 hours.

In our hotel is smoking no longer allowed, unfortunately not all our guests follow these rules.

We do hope to welcome you once again in the NH Zandvoort.

With kind regards,
Hichem Balegh
Hotel Director NH Zandvoort

Rooms are very old, definitively not the ones you would expect booking via the hotel website. Location is good and close to the beach. Breakfast is good. Wifi is poor, I was not able to see a movie. Service was although the rooms was sometimes cleaned at 16.

Dear guest,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Tripadvisor.
We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied about your room.

Our standard free wifi has a limited data use once you would like to watch a movie our premium wifi would work however this will bring some extra costs.

The rooms will be cleaned between 09.00 and 18.00, and of course once you wish to have your room cleaner earlier or on a certain time this would be possible.

With kind regards,
Hichem Balegh

This hotel does everything well without really excelling. The breakfast is good, the rooms are good, the views are good. You get the picture. I'd recommend hiring a bike to get into town or into Harlem (only about 10km away on a designated cycle route).

Room Tip: Choose a room with a sea view

We visited the NH as a base for the Luminosity Festival & it was a good choice. The hotel is on the beach & is very clean & tidy and he staff are friendly and helpful.

The rooms are very spacious (we booked a superior) and the air con works really well when it is hot outside but the bathroom is quite small.

The hotel would have benefitted from a swimming pool and whilst there is a small spa this is limited to massage/treatments & sauna.

Breakfast is very expensive (18 euros each) but visit one of the many beach bars to eat well for less than half the price.

Overall a good choice.

Room Tip: Superior rooms seem worth the extra

We just finished our stay at this hotel and all I can say is AWESOME :)

Ok, it's not the cheapest hotel in Zandvoort. But I think it might be among the best. So if you care to pay for it, then you'll have a great stay here.

Because:

1. It's close to the beach, practically on it!

2. Staff is super friendly and service-oriented.

3. Breakfast is good!

4. Restaurant has great food too!

5. Rooms are clean, and they check up on you every now and then to see if everything is satisfactory.

6. The view depends on the room of course, but most of the rooms seem to have a good view.

7. The sound insulation between the rooms seem to be very good as well. There was a huge music festival going on nearby when we were here and more than half of the guests at the hotel were most likely going there. So we could hear there were a lot of preparties in many hotel rooms, but when you were in your own room then you could barely hear anything from these preparties.

Excellent hotel experience :)
