Center Parcs Park Zandvoort
Ranked #22 of 25 Hotels in Zandvoort
Reviewed 24 March 2013

Rather small park but the facilties are not bad at all and the location (near beach, town, station etc.) makes it a good place to stay near Amsterdam.
In fact the smaller site makes things rather more relaxing than larger Center Parcs (in the UK for example) and the staff were all helpful and pleasant enough..
The 'cottage' we had was well designed and equipped and pretty well maintained. Best of all (given the unseasonably cold weather) the heating system was exceptionally good.
All in all a good value stay at this (March) time of year.

Spent a few days with extended family (2 cottages), including young children. I thought it would be crowded and we would feel too close to neighbours, but it turned out to be great. Kids could run around, go to the pool, walk to the beach and activities, see animals; adults could rent bike and go visit Haarlem; a nice city close by. The whole family was able to go to Amsterdam by train for a day or two. Perfect for families even coming from far away. A relax way to visit Amsterdam and its region.

Sadly - this was the worst Centre Parcs experience ever. Bars supposed to open until 10.30 but on three nights it could have been self service as far as the staff on duty were concerned.

On each night at least three other groups faced the same problems as we did - first time it has happened in over 20 plus CP visits but on three nights its not good

The people of Holland, remain some of the friendliest people of anywhere I have ever visited. They actually make the holiday! The facilities at Zandvoort are a bit dated in the park, but this is not too bad as the beach and the town of Zandvoort have plenty to entertain. The station is five minutes walk away and Amsterdam is only about twenty five minutes away!
The accomodation was functional but the patio area was almost non existent. All the facilities in the bungalow were fine, however the stairs were, in my opinion, unsafe for youngsters and the elderly. We had a bout of heavy rain on the Thursday and the water pooled inside the hallway at the bottom of the stairs. Sand was no issue as stated on other reviews and I do think it's worth bearing in mind how much it all costs. It's still cheaper than a CenterParcs in England. Checking in was a tad confusing and consisted of two very happy people standing on the approach road checking details and giving out welcome packs. ( we arrived early and so aforementioned happy people had not emerged yet). At the weekend, sound from the racetrack was a nuisance as were the large amount of men who appeared on Friday and used the Park as a base for the motor racing. I complained about the late night carousing and in fairness, the staff at the park sorted these people out almost immediately. A Monday to Friday booking would avoid any of this hassle, in the racing season.

The beach area around Zandvoort was beautiful. The Parc itself however was awful.
It was surrounded by concrete housing, very tired and noisy beside the racetrack.
We booked a VIP cottage which was expensive and nowwhere near the standard we expected or value for money. It was VERY basic, sofa was worn with flat cushions, tables had the edging missing but worst of all was the ouside area. It was overgrown, had a broken benchset, no umbrella, broken plant pots and despite being a pet friendly cottage was not closed in so our dog could escape. We were also unlucky enough to have two groups of male occupants in 2 nearby cottages who drank and played music all day and all night. More than a little TLC was required to make this place even remotely 'nice'. VERY disappointed, best avoided....

Room Tip: No location looked nice, some were even less desireable than ours which was lakeside....

Despite the many negative comments I have not found many things that I didn't like. The bungalow was completely refurbished except for the bathrooms. The bathrooms were still ok, the porcelain was old but the rest was also new. The park itself was overall very nice. Yes you can be unlucky if you have a crowd of youngsters next to you having party all night but this can always happen to you in these parks.
The park is located in Zandvoort so you have all the amenities of the town and the train station is only a few minutes walk. The train will take you to Haarlem or Amsterdam if you want a city trip.

Overall I can really recommend the park, especially when traveling with family.

Location is just perfect. Close to the beach, close to nature, close to the race track, close to Amsterdam (by train). But it's looking a little old. Our bungalow was good, but needs an update. Bedrooms were big, with soft beds. Shower was very good. Kitchen has a washing machine, little microwave, coffee/tea can be made and towels and linnen were provided (you have to pay for it). On the parc you can do some activities like bowling (the worst bowling alley ever!), midget golf (is ok) and the indoor swimming 'paradise', but this is so small, only 1 big slide. Wifi is good on the parc and in the bungalows, but again, you have to pay for it. My two tips: free linnen/towels and free wifi, that's what people want, that's service.
