My girlfriend and I visited De Carrousel this morning.
When we arrived we found the ambiance to nothing like we'd seen before - a carrousel in a restaurant!! That being said it all went downhill as soon as we sat down - inside. We sat down and made our decisions on what to order very quickly.
While we understood that the place is very understaffed, we noticed the two waiters available were serving all of the customers outside.We sat for a good 20 minutes, before trying to speak with one of the waiters who actually said the words
"I don't have time."
Now take from that what you will - but there were couples who just sat down outside and were served while we waited politely. We were treated with absolute disgust by this waiter, he made no eye contact with us and simply ignored our presence there. One must also note - we are of an ethnic origin which we feel is the reason for us being ignored.
To that end, being ridiculed by service staff was intolerable and we left straight after this interaction.
Dear De Carrousel Manager
Hire staff who have actual customer service skills. It is a tough industry, the financial climate is strained but there is no excuse for disrespect.
