There were so many interesting items on the menu that we decided to get the chef's tasting menu so that we could sample a variety of dishes. Our waiter, who was also one of the owners, happily explained each item in English. The starter tray set a very high standard with a selection of 6 items that were imaginatively prepared and beautifully presented. The mains consisted of 3-4 fish dishes, also prepared and presented in a very high standard. After this spectacular meal, the desserts, although good, did not quite live up to the creative standards of the rest of the meal.

't Crabbeye was recommended to us by a local. We walked over to check it out and made a reservation on the spot. We later learned that some walk in customers are turned away.
As appears to be a frequent menu pattern, there are options for tasting multiple courses at very reasonable prices, or more expensive a la carte choices. We were both anticipating the Dover Sole and just had to have it, despite the €31.50 price tag, because it is not available at home, and also takes real skill to cook it correctly. Undercooked and the bones won't separate easily, overcooked and it all just falls to pieces.
Ours was absolutely perfect and right up there with the best in top international restaurants. Full marks.
The wine list is not extensive and I was not sure what to drink....no problem; our host and co-owner, Dan, let us taste our first choice which was not to our taste so we tried another which was really nice. The trouble was that we did not want a full bottle. Same situation with another diner so Dan let split the bottle by the glass; how about that for service and point of sale flexibility.
The sole was quite large so we shared a dessert, again no problem.
After our meal we meet the chef, Bob, who is the other co-owner of the restaurant. Dan and Bob chatted about wine and food in Holland and elsewhere. They are definitely passionate about their occupation and keen to hear any feedback.
We left feeling very pleased and would definitely visit again if we are staying nearby in the future.

This was one of the most memorable evenings of my life. I was with a group of fellow bicyclers visiting Delft for the evening. There were 7 of us at table. The food was divine. The service was spectacular -- handled by the proprietor. Luckily, there was only one other table of 7 that evening, also somewhat boisterous -- or we would have been considered a nuisance to other diners. Before the evening was over -- there were magic tricks shared, general hilarity, and great good cheer. Truly "gezellig"! And, again, the food was spectacular!

If you are looking for fresh seafood in Delft, look no further!

We didn't make reservation but we visited on a weekday night so it was easy for us to get a nice table by the window. There wasn't a menu in English but the waiter was very attentive and he patiently explained to us the items on the menu as well as the chef's special. We order the recommended Chef's menu and weren't disappointed.

The starter was a platter of assorted seafood. The scallop and the clams were really fresh. Main course was 3 types of fish, namely mackerel, salmon and cod. We chose the sweet desserts (instead of the cheese) which were a scoop of vanilla ice cream, brownies and pears. Everything was FANTASTIC!

The price was very typical of a dutch restaurant. We paid about 70euros for both of us. 3 course meal plus a glass of white wine each. For the quality of the seafood, this place is worth the money.

We chose the Chef's tasting menu and enjoyed one of the best meals we have had for some time. The appearance is of a good local restaurant, but the service and food preparation are a step above that. We noticed that the majority of the clientele were local and obviously regular customers...a good sign. The owners told us that they have been in business for two years, and they should be there for a long time.
