“Great small hotel in perfect location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2011

We stayed two nights at the Emauspoort in beautiful Delft. Perfect location, right behind the New Church and the Market Square. Basic, but large and comfortable rooms, very clean. Great breakfast with hot offerings as well as standard buffet. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice outdoor sitting area with honor bar. Included tickets to Vermeer Center and church discounts. Easy walk from train station. Free internet in lobby. Lovely neighborhood, perfect for strolling, especially in the evening after the tour groups leave. Great restaurants/bars in nearby Beestmarket square, especially the Spijshuis De Dis restaurant. Delft is a joy for photographers, and the Emauspoort made our stay very enjoyable.

All the other reviews are quite right about what a beautiful little hotel this is in such a charming place. I stayed here on a business trip, and often find that this kind of hotel does not work so well for that, usually due to very boring practical reasons. But not so in this case. My room was very spacious, with a small table to use for a desk, and the wi-fi Internet connection was reliable and fast all the time (yes, you have to pay, but no more than most places these days).

Such a treat to stay in such a beautiful place on a business trip, and when I did have a little spare time to be able to walk around the town so easily, with everything so close by. I would certainly love to come back here on a future trip.

One thing I would bring next time is some insect repellent, as I did get a few mosquito bites - my room was overlooking the canal, the weather had been warm, and I left my window open during the night, so (with the benefit of hindsight) not too much surprise that I heard a few of them buzzing around my room. But I heard from local colleagues that that is common around canals in this area, and certainly nothing to blame the hotel for! Just be prepared.

*Wonderful* location - everything you could want within a short walk. Seeing the procession of moms, children, students, and businessmen bike past the breakfast room, with the cathedral walls right across the canal, was a treat each morning. My room was spacious and decorated with antiques. But most of all, I appreciated the warmth and attentiveness of the owners. A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a delightful city.

Little gem in the heart of beautiful Delft.
Lovely and very clean room, quite but very central location, beautiful lounge, excellent breakfast.
I told the hotel manager that my little daughter was celebrating her birthday on Queensday and they didn't forget. We found balloons at our breakfast table and a little cake.
We have to go back to Holland in a few weeks and I will definetely choose this lovely hotel again.

Hotel is located right in the center of Delft . We didn't have any issues with noise. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom new and spotless. Breakfast was the best in our 2 weeks long BeNeLux trip. Owners are very nice and helpful. Reduced rate of 8.5 Euro for a very convenient nearby parking. Free WiFi.

This hotel is located so nicely. A bit of a walk from the train station but easy to find. Jeroen and Desiree are wonderful hosts and Delft is a fantastic city to visit while in Holland. The breakfast is delicious and offers a good variety. The rooms are comfortable and offer coffee/tea and hairdryers. The bathrooms are spacious for Europe! I plan to stay again next year.

This historically relevant hostel is a must, if you plan on visiting Delft for any significant length of time. It dates back centuries, and is situated directly across the street from a canal, central square and the "New Church" which dates back to the 1500's. If time permits reservation way in advance of your arrival, ask for "Kamer 24", the Charlotte De Borbon room. It directly overlooks all the aforementioned, and is the more reasonably priced of the two rooms which afford this view. Furnishings are not "chique" by any means, but consistent with the character of the architecture. Your hosts are very accommodating. (The lady proprietor even offered to haul our luggage up the stairs after we registered.) Breakfasts are very satisfying. WiFi works well, in the lobby, at least. Have a glass of wine while sorting through your e-mail. The Emauspoort has to be the best place to stay in all of Delft.
