We had a great 2 week stay in Leiden. The hostess of this b&b is warm and engaging. She offers a lovely breakfast at the time of your choosing and you are her only guests so there is no worry of sharing a bathroom or a hallway. Your rooms are actually an apartment with a bedroom and a small rooftop porch. The location is central to old city Leiden and walkable to all the many museums, downtown shops, restaurants and canal walks. We made day trips to Amsterdam (20 minutes) and Delft (20 minutes) which we enjoyed; but, we were happy to be at home in Leiden - a charming and easily navigable city.

As other reviews have said, Salomon's Room is the perfect B&B. It is in a perfect location, in the centre of Leiden, yet calm. The rooms are spacious and home-y. What makes me keep going back (and I always stay here when business brings me to Leiden) is the owner. Her warm, lively interest in her guests makes one feel welcomed and special. This is the perfect place to stay in Leiden.

Staying in a BnB is not just about enjoying a different accommodation from a bland, uniformed, soulless hotel room. It is also about meeting people, in this case Alma and her family. My in-laws struck an intriguing conversation with one of Alma's family members, which continued to a long conversation in the dining table the next evening, which involved everyone in the family. Clearly, Alma enjoys what she is doing, and it shows in the warm, heartfelt hosting we experienced.

The BnB is located on the top floor of Alma and Wim's house, very spacious and bright. There were three of us, and Alma kindly allowed me to stay in the spare room (usually not rented) with a moderate additional fee. Alma filled the space with books, tasteful collection of arts and mementos, begonias, and everything that delights the heart. The building is right in the heart of historic Leiden, making it very easy to explore Leiden's key attractions (Leidse Loper, Hortus Botanicus, Farmer's Market, Rijksmuseum van de Oudheden, Pieterskerk, the Almshouses/Hofjes etc). Finding bites to eat is also very easy, due to the centrality of the location.

Breakfast was expansive: bread, different kinds of cheeses, eggs, yoghurt with muesli and honey, poffertjes, brownies (!), coffee and tea. Alma responded to the mildest wishes (brown bread in my in-laws's case, and Earl Grey in mine).

It was too short a stay, but I will definitely come back.

The apartment was absolutely wonderful. Sadly we didn't have a longer vacation and more time to stay in the rooms. Great breakfast! Poffertjes (small pancakes) were delicious. Leiden is nice, there's much more than visiting Keukenhof.

We stayed at this lovely B&B in central Leiden for 4 nights. It is a nice/quaint area near the courtyard of an old church (very quiet when we were there), but it is still just steps away from many shops and city hall. About a 15 to 20 minute leisurely walk from Leiden Centraal Station. The flat is on the top floor of a home which is quite spacious / private, and it is just high enough to see out over the surrounding area. Big windows let in a lot of light. The owner was very kind and accommodating. Excellent breakfasts. I would happily recommend this place to other travelers, and would also stay there again myself if I ever return to Leiden.

We stayed in Leiden for 5 nights. The b&b was awesome.
The owners were friendly, the room was cute, decorated in a very personal and warm way. more than enough space for two persons. it also has a balcony with view over the roofs!

Located next to the St. Pieterskerk, in walking distance to the city center. Some nice bars in the neighborhood, but no noise at night.
we would definitely come back.

ps: Breakfast is so rich, we had to start lunch canceling.
