We went on a rainy day and really enjoyed this little museum. It has lots of interesting information and artefacts, really well presented inside the windmill. I had been very curious about the Dutch windmills, and this place answered all of my questions. It was a nice quiet museum too, and I thought they did a great job of ordering the information as you climb through the windmill. Great views of Leiden from the top too. A surprisingly excellent attraction.

Well worth a visit. Great to see the insides of a windmill and to read and hear about the history of windmills. It took around an hour yo go round and climb up all the levels but great day out.

Great place to visit, once inside after the living area, you start your climb, listened to a very informative video on the history of the windmill, its wooden stairs are very steep, and the steps are narrow, so be warned, great view of Leiden from the balcony?? that surrounds it, then a further climb to the top, with all the grinding equipment etc, on show, then you have to climb back down other stairs backwards, there are handrails but might not suit everyone :)

A must see in Leiden, wonderfully preserved. It shows just what a windmill was like. A great museum for all although as you'd imagine there are plenty of steps so not great if you're dodgy on your feet!

This may be your only chance to see the inside of a real windmill/residence, and it is worth a visit. It doesn't take long to see, the entrance fee is reasonable, and its very well maintained. You cannot do this, however, if you have mobility issues as there are many many narrow steep stairs. The view from the top outside is really nice. Small shop at the end for souveniers.
