large comfortable room, nothing fancy! Good shower/tub and nice breakfast buffet for 7.50 Euros. Less than 5 min to central station and from there 12 min by train to Shiphol, 40 to Amsterdam Centraal and by bus 30 min to Keukenhof - the tulip gardens. Also easy access to Den Haag and Rotterdam

I was in Leiden for a big beerfestival at Brewery 'De Molen' in Bodegraven' (near Gouda).
So all hotels, hostels and others we're almost full.

I was happy to find a hotelroom (55 EUR).
I was welcome on a very business liked way (a bit worth, would be nicer).
The rest of the staff we're kinda friendly.

When i got to my room, there was a kinda shock.
I had a single room, witch was furbeshed in the 70's and had never changed.
The wallpaper was leterly disintegrading, very strange. I would of think that staff and owners would have seen this things. Also the rest of the room was old and dated.
They did try to renovate the badroom, witch was kinda ok.

Aldo these place is perfect located for a hotel, in walking distance of the train station and the center of Leiden i would return to this hotel.
It's just not wourth that money

Excellent location right in the centre of Leiden about 10 minutes walk from the main station, looking onto a public square with cafes and a canal basin.
The hotel staff were pleasant enough.
Given the hotel consists of several old townhouses if is limited how much you could do with the hotel building. The stairs were typically Dutch, very steep.
My room looked liked nothing had been done to it since about 1980, furniture was tired, mattress lumpy, industrial felt carpet, dated tube TV. At 80 Euros for a night I would have expected better.
I was kept awake most of the night by revelling students who I think had just returned to Uni.

THe hotel is located near to the center but still 5 min to walk. The room are very simple and to not have standard equipment what you like to expect like TV, fridge or minibar. The shower does not work well and warm water comes out as a small rill. The booked non smoker room was a former smoker room, but it was not possible to open windows. The breakfast was very bad, verything was packed and after I while I felt like having breakfast on a garbage dump.

The rooms look dated. The TV even had an s-video input. The room was advertised as one with the balcony, but there was one small hole for a balcony.
However, the bathroom was clean and the hot shower did help after the long walks in leiden and in Keukenhof.
I didn't have breakfast there, the coffee house on the square has got great fair trade coffee with good sandwiches. I paid 85 euros for a night and that was the cheapest hotel I could get. The reception staff was a mixed bag, some wore really nice and some couldn't care less.
Overall, if you are looking for a cheap accommodation and a good location to restaurants and shops alike, I would recommend this place. You can't really complain for the price you pay.
An advice, the stairs are very narrow and if you are carrying heavy bags there is no lift. So do not look to this hotel if you are with elderly people.

Room Tip: Try and travel light if you want to stay in this hotel, all rooms are from 1st floor onwards.

The hotel is located on the city square. It's an old brick building in need of upgrading. The room we were given was in an adjacent building with steep stairs and old cheep furniture. We refused this room and were given one just slightly better.

Central? Yes but you walk through Leiden in 15 min.

My room was ok, the bathroom not. Terrible bathroom. Breakfast far from valuable for the 7.5€, buy your own if you're going for cheap. IBIS at the central have a opening offer atm (first Q of 2012), which is better.
