We came across this hotel by accident during our last visit to Rotterdam and looked forward to a unique stay on a floating hotel. The rooms like all hotels in the city are on the small side, but very functional and tastefully decorated. There are a lot of benefits in being in a smaller hotel and there are some great restaurants nearby. The staff are very friendly and went out of their way to make everybody feel welcome during a busy jazz festival weekend. We have booked again for next year !

Room Tip: Having a large porthole is nice, especially if it rains and so go for the lower level.

Very central, yet on nice quiet waterway. Very friendly and helpful staff, bartender was lovely. Nice deck near the bar and I wish I had had the time to try one of the picnicboats - they looked great, you need to book a couple of days in advance. Why not 'Excellent'

- need to be clear about kind of room - there is a lot of variation, no problem with mine (plumbing a but noisy), but size and position, privacy, vary
- room wifi is rather expensive on cable at E7.50 per day (though the bar wifi is free and worked)
- if you need a taxi, order it *well* in advance if time is an issue - I nearly missed my train, though took reception advice and bookine

Room Tip: ask them what is possible

This hotel was absolutely incredible. First, the overall concept on water is so cool. The service was A+ honestly it was like being at a 5 star hotel. The owner took us on a boat ride through the water ways, cooked us a home cooked Dutch meal that was amazing, and provided excellent customer service. The bartender was also amazing and deserves much credit. Stay here!!

We ended up here because all the really nice apartment rentals I was looking at in similar price ranges were booked for the 3 days we wanted to stay in Rotterdam. Had come from terrible one night stay at the terrible Hilton, which had zero emotional fengshui. So the H2otel is a good choice only if you're not so picky about surroundings but still want a somewhat pleasant atmosphere.

The fact that it's on a boat is quite cool. I especially liked the private terrace of my upper deck room, from which I even got to watch some dude jump in the canal and get chased by 8 police officers. The bathrooms are clean enough, and I appreciated the effort made to spruce up the upper deck rooms in a somewhat, uh, "contemporary" style. Much better than staying at a soulless chain hotel.

The rooms without terrace access, on the lower floor, are quite claustrophobic. Would not suggest them if you have time to look for other places to stay, I'm pretty sure you can find other places for similar prices that are not so cramped.

Room Tip: The upper deck rooms on the ends of the boat have private terraces. The other ones have shared terra...

Hi, I spent three nights in the H2O hotel. I have to say that it is a nice and clean hotel, and very central in Rotterdam. And the staff is friendly. Nonetheless I really thought that it is too expensive for what it offers, considering that there is no free wi-fi in the rooms and that if you book during the week the breakfast is not included. I guess that what has really put me a little bit off was the fact that on the second night there was a serious problem with the heating system. I basically had to sleep with a jumper plus two blankets (the night receptionist couldn't solve the problem). I was hoping to get at least a sympathetic sign from the direction of the hotel (for example a coffee in the monring!!), but nothing....

Only spent one night in the hotel but it was a fun experience. The bathroom was spacious, the bed good, and the bar area very warm and inviting -- having a drink by the window looking out over the water and the city at night. The bedroom itself was small but fine, especially for one night. The staff were very helpful. All in all a good and unique experience.

This hotel is well located, close to the city center and to public transportation. The fact that it's in a boat makes it an unusual and interesting option. The bar area is nice and welcoming, a good place to enjoy free wifi and a beer. My room was comfortable and clean but very small, with a tiny tiny closet. I had some problems with the AC/heater, but the staff came by promptly to fix it. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, not impeccably clean, but clean. THe staff was in general nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, not too many options, but a perfectly fine continental breakfast.
Overall the hotel was convenient, but a bit plain. I thought it would be a quirkier, funkier option, but it's just a regular hotel inside a boat. I also thought there was a distinctive and lingering smell of stagnant water in my room, which was slightly unpleasant.
