It's the largest of it's kind in Europe, locally known as the Swan and wide enough for traffic, tram, bicycle and pedestrian lanes.

Obviously, one of the most common pictures of Rotterdam. But it really looks stylish, light and elegant. I enjoyed of seeing it from different sides. It definitely one of the elements that creates Rotterdam’s unique charm.

Walking to the New York hotel, we crossed a very modern bridge with great views of the city and waterfront. This is easily walked and very safe. There are restaurants on either side and it is fairly flat. Warning to watch for the bicycles though.

... and it gets the job (viz. getting people across a body of water) done. It also looks pretty . What else could the discerning bridge enthusiast wish for?
