If you are looking for a curry house in Rotterdam, this is probably the closest you can get to a genuine meal. It is authentic, the staff and resturant is of Pakistani origin i.e. more north Indian style food. The buffet in the evening is very cheap (about EUR15) and a good selection of dishes can be found for both carnivores and vegetarians.

The downside is that the food is super oily and looks like made to kill. I live in London and have eaten at a variety of curry houses and can surely say a tasty curry can be made without pouring 1 litre of vegetable oil in it. I think they need to work on that part. Otherwise, the value for money is excellent for the variety, speed and amount of food you can get.

The ambience is quite understated. Its more like a road side rural dhaba in hinterland of dusty India or pakistan than something in Rotterdam. Probably, that keeps it cheap.

We dined here during our short visit to Rotterdam and expectations were quite high after reading some of the positive reviews. Our experience here was little different though. Even after reserving a table in advance,it looked to us as if there was no reservation done by the staff. The staff who were very unwelcoming at the first place some how managed to get a place for us. The decor was a bit too much.

The restaurant serves both buffet and dishes that could be ordered from a la carte. Must admit that the buffet dishes were varied and quite delicious except for the chicken tikka masala which was on the sweeter side. The rest of the dishes tasted great. The buffet is therefore an absolute great value for money (14-15 EUR per person) which is the biggest plus point. Overall we did not get the feeling like we were dining in an Indian restaurant with the exception of some of the buffet dishes.

I went to the restaurant with a couple of Russian friends of mine who are big fans of Indian food. Soon after reaching the restaurant, the maître d'hôtel recommended to me that we go for the Buffet and not order things from a la carte. I must say, it was the best recommendation ever. The food was superb and delicious and at just 14.50 Eur, unbelievably cheap. It was one of those very few days when I could hardly move after a meal and I was so full of joy. I would very strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone who is a fan of Indian food and is passing through Rotterdam!

Went to this spot recently with a few colleagues. Had a good satisfying meal without paying much. Choices in Buffet was varied only thing is there where only two meat choices fish/chicken.
Buffet varied from Chicken tikka lighlty spiced/ Tandoori / Madras/ Fried fish curry / indian basmati rice/ Lentils/ potato curry/ Badjis(fried tempured battered vegetables)green beans/ And some condoments. Service was good and friendly.

Not the most trendy place but you get bang for your buck.

Although I had already been to this a few years back I re-visited as motivated by the reviews here. It was a Saturday night and we arrived at 6 without a reservation to find that the place was nearly fully booked. There is seating both upstairs and downstairs which can fit in around 80 people in total. However we were given an 'offer' which was sit downstairs but leave within 1.5 hours or take the one or two unreserved tables upstairs. We sat upstairs but were given the least attractive table and the waiter would not accommodate us in moving to a better place even though the place was empty at the time except for one or two people. We were told that we have to have that particular table to maximize capacity. Maybe this guy was a new manager or something because then he was reprimanded about the seating layout by a senior and they proceeded to re-arrange the tables in the (empty) restaurant for 10 minutes which should have been done earlier before opening the upstairs. Once people arrived it became obvious that there were couples occupying tables for 4, but by that time it seemed no problem anymore !! On reflection this was a little irritating.

Regarding the food: there is both the 3-course buffet and a la carte, but most people were there for the buffet although a few were also ordering Naan breads on the side (which is extra on the price). Some spicy vegetable soup, pakoras, bhajis, 4 chicken dishes, lamb rogan josh, fish jalfrezi, takka dal, vegetable curry, aloo gobi, spinach was offered on the buffet so enough for all tastes. Also rice, salad, etc. Buffets can be a bit hit and miss but I must say that the quality and taste of this one was very good ... no wondered the place was full on a Saturday night. The desert was a bit cheap and cheerful (blancmange). You can return as many times as you wish there is no counting visits from the staff. Beverages are decently priced. All in all a good Indian meal for a more than satisfactory price (14.50 per head).
