“Fantastic restaurant in a fantastic museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2013

We had a four course dinner plus desserts etc and it was superb. Sensitive, delicious and tailored for me as I eat no dairy. Every course was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. A great place to come to for a world traveller and perfect for the museum....

“Great ambiance, service and fantastic cuisine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2013

The staff are very well versed in what they are serving and can give good advice on choices, and they are very helpful and attentive. The cuisine was excellent and the portions were just right.

“Superb exhibitions in a beautifull historic building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2013

This museum has really great exhibitions on display, for instance their display of historic samurai armor is phenomanal. The setting near the river in a historic neighbourhood is also beautifull.

“Beautiful restaurant with pleasant atmosphere, service could be better...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2013

Beautiful restaurant, nice interior, it boasts a really pleasant atmosphere. The tables are at a pleasant distance, while not lost in the room. The seats are very comfy and good for a long seating.

When netering the restaurant you feel somewhat lost (doors were closed because of the low temperatures), there is no clear signage where to go to. The overall welcome was not overly warm and somewhat functional. The whole service could use some warmth I would say. Some interest in the guests.

We choosed to have the 4-course menu, which was really good and which was somewhat adapted as we do not eat some of the ingredients on it. The food was very good, well prepared, but not very new or creative, a lot of the courses where "golden oldies". It was all good, but not surprising.

The price of the menu was fair (49,50), but overall we paid 360 euro for 4 people, including water, a bottle of white wine (40) and a separate glass of red wine (for 3 persons) with the main course and coffee (for 3 persons) after, which is no bargain to me and on the high end given the overall performance.

It is a nice restaurant and you cannot go wrong here but there are definitely better places around.

“Excellent restaurant !!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 December 2012

Friends invited us to this fantastic restaurant in the harbour of Rotterdam, near the city center. First we had no problem fincding a parking space in front of the restaurant, which is exceptional for Rotterdam. Inside we were welcomed in the loungebar had a apperitive which was served with some very nice starters.
Diner itself was exceptional. good service and good food which looked great en had mind blowing taste. Some very odd combinations you would never imagine yourself but all were good. The only minus for me was a dish with a coulis of dutch "Boerenkool" (Kale english) which i found to be too dominant in the dish, but as i was the only one with this comment on our table, it seems a personal comment.
We had a 5 course meal with accomplishing wines. The selection of wines by the sommelier was matching the dishes very well.
In the end i visited the kitchen (being a cook myself) and spoke with the chef.
Very clean and completely open kitchen, nothing to hide. All dishes were handmade and had clear signature of the chef.
As we were invited, i have no clue whether the whole was expensive or not. The individual dishes were reasonably priced for this level of restaurant: starters € 17,50, main dishes € 27,50 and deserts € 13,50. The 5 course meals were € 65,- pp.
Has potential for a michelin star.
