I stayed in this hotel one night only but I can recommend it for sure. The reception was very professional and of high quality. They were also very helpful in explaining the quickest way to go a to restaurant where we had booked a dinner for the evening. I had a good room with a very good bed. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

We stayed at the Manhattan in April just by chance when we were let down by the Rembrandtplein hotel (see my other review).

We were greeted with a lovely welcome and the staff upgraded our room to an Executive Suite for free ( maybe because it was my birthday :) )

We found the hotel to be faultless with an exceptional room, the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, the room was well equipped and we had access the executive lounge so it was like going from home to home.

This hotel is highly recommended and if you are going to Rotterdam this is the only place we would recommend. The location is perfect too, right opposite the train station and a short walk or tram ride to the centre.

Well done to the staff and management at the Manhattan.

Room Tip: Any room in this hotel would be a good choice if travelling to Rotterdam.

When I checked in, I had no great expectations (in part because I am from Singapore and in my experience, most Asian 4-5 star business hotels leave equivalent European business ones in the dirt). An unimaginatively named hotel housed in a rather industrial setting within large commercial building next to a casino. However, from the first smile, little things set the Manhattan aside. Both the lady checking me in and the gentlemen who helped orientated me, was really interested that I knew how to get the best from the hotel and the location (whilst I really like the Dutch and have been dealing with them since the 1980s most in hospitality are efficient rather than personable). The restaurant was helpful and not at all phased by us wanting to eat 'Asian style' which meant 1 additional table to house communal dishes. Aside: the quality of the food was good but not quite award winning. Housekeeping was very efficient (room was cleaned when I was out for 40 minutes) and friendly (the electrical sockets are not international multi sockets and so I needed an adaptor). The executive lounge was modest but very well laid out, equipped and restocked very regularly (note to the reviewer "g4sp" - pay the extra $25 for an executive room and log in to the broad band at the lounge).

But as several reviewers have mentioned, it is the location which makes this hotel remarkable. It is about a 1 minute walk to the incredible efficient tram system, 2 minutes to the very easy to use metro, 3 minutes to the central station (but yet the rooms are not noisy) and on the Fyra 38 minutes to Amsterdam (3 minutes walk, 8 minutes to buy ticket and waiting time and 27 minutes on the train). Come out of the hotel turn right and you go past the casino and within 5 minutes you will find yourself in the main shopping district. Turn left and within 3 minutes you are in a rather up market Chinatown. A further 8 minutes later past the fringe of Chinatown and you are at Rotterdam's museum district.

Some tips: 1) when the Dutch say its 5 minutes away - add 50% to their suggested walk time as they walk very briskly. 2) there is a very nice eatery about a 12 minute walk away called 'Old Dutch'. 3) go to Schipol Airport via the Fyra and save 25 minutes of travel and over 100 Euro is cost !!

As you already mentioned, the hotel is very well situated, close to the train station and the main areas of Rotterdam's city center . And indeed if you take the Fyra from Schiphol, the hotel is only 25 minutes away.

Been staying here for about 7 years since it was the Westin. Great local and nice employees. My real problem is that they change things every time I stay here. Last time Internet was free. Now it is around $20. Really??? $200/night Internet should be free. Especially when all of the major brands include it now. Housekeeping is pretty good but did find a stray hair here and there. Overall a good place but they need to offer Internet and stabilize the rate. I have paid as little as $99 and as much as $249 for the same room.

Checked in for an overnight stay after travelling in from Amsterdam. Hotel was well located to Rotterdam central station.
Was given room key by friendly assistant who was over zealous in trying to get me to add breakfast to my room. We prefer to lie in so kindly declined. Went to room and noticed immediately the room had not been turned over. Went back to reception (from 8th floor with bags - no assistance offered). Receptionist was apologetic. Offered upgrade to executive room. Went up to room on 10th floor (again no assistance offered with bags) and guess what...the room was not turned over...again! Used towels on floor etc. Called down to reception, manager took 10miutes to arrive. profusively apologised and offered another room (before checking it herself). Offered complimentary dinner and free wifi. If you book the executive rooms, the executive lounge offers nothing more than a few crisps and orange juice. We were only there for a night for the North Sea Jazz festival. Very average stay,

Great hotel, very clean! I have enjoyed this beautiful hotel several times during last years, always excellent. They are very flexible to family with kids, in terms of the 2nd room, and potential discount, however better to book in advance. The hotel is well connected to the city centre and to the commercial area. Breakfast, it is a great value, never missed. Ask to get the Internet wireless free ticket when you are there, and you are immediately on. The MH in Rotterdam has a long tradition, new managers are very keen to keep this hotel at the top. See you soon.

This hotel is just over the road from the train station and just over a mile from the museums so is well located.The rooms are very comfortable.Good size bathroom with both bath and shower.Could do with more light to help shaving.I tried to use the air conditioing as the room was stuffy but it didnt seem to work.The staff are very helpful.Trouble with the sink in the bathroom was dealt with in half an hour.I was allowed to stay an extra hour at no charge.The only thing that didnt live up to expectations was breakfast..For some reason the dining room air conditioning was on despite being cool outside.Quite frankly the breakfast was not good enough for a 5 star hotel.One good thing was plenty of fruit.However the choice of breakfast items was fairly poor.No hard boiled eggs,no sliced bread no toaster so no toast.There were 3 loaves of bread but you were supposed to cut them yourselves.No covering to the loaves so everybody would handle them.A bit unhygenic.Other than that a very pleasant stay.
