“Beautiful and Convenient”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

This hotel wows you when you enter the lobby and it continues to impress throughout the stay. The staff are professional and efficient. While the hallways are rather dark (but visually appealing) the rooms are bright. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is large.

We were offered the opportunity to upgrade our room to an Executive room for an additional 60.00 euros a night. That gave us free in room WiFi, breakfast and access to the Executive Lounge. While 60.00 seemed high, the buffet breakfast was 28.50 per person and WiFi is not free in the rooms. So we did upgrade as the WiFi cost was more than 20.00 a day. The breakfast was good although it does not change from day to day. The Executive Lounge has a great view and is nicely appointed.

This hotel is located across the street from Rotterdam Central which makes it very convenient for travels. While we did not notice any noise from the station, we heard quiet a bit of noise from the offices above the hotel rooms. As we were on the top floor of the hotel we heard the office workers overhead during the work week.

The hotel does have a frequent stay program, however, you must book directly through the hotel to use the program. For us, it was quiet a bit cheaper to use another hotel booking site so we were unable to benefit from the program. Frequent travelers will want to evaluate the pros and cons.

Overall, a nice hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid the 12th floor. Above the hotel there are offices so you get quiet a bit of noise from the of...

I stayed here last weekend for a team weekend getaway. Location was ideal, just an easy 20 minute bus ride from airport to the train station and then less than a 5 minute walk from there to the hotel. Check in was quick and easy - we arrived at 11am and they had no problem checking us in early as our rooms were ready. We had just booked the lead-in rooms but they were big with views out over the station which is a really cool building. We found everything we wanted to see to be within walking distance so didn't need to shell out more money on transportation which was great. Breakfast was good- the bread especially was amazing and there was a lot of choice in terms of hot and cold food. I'd definitely stay here again.

Thr hotel is in a great location right opposite the station, the rooms are comfotable and I had the best night's sleep in ages.
My only gripe is with the wi-fi policy. It is free in the reception area and some rooms have free wi-fi included in the price but for the rest you have to pay a huge €24.50 a day. How do they justify this? The difference in price between my room and those of my colleagues didn't reflect it. They were very similar. If McDonallds, Starbucks and other hotels can provide free wi-fi then why can't a top-end hotel like the Manhattan? Its an illogical policy in today's market.

We stayed for a weekend get away in the hotel. It is very conveniently located not even 5 minutes walking from the train station and close to the shopping streets and a lot of restaurants. The room was nice and clean, nothing to complain about. We were really impressed by the nice complementary breakfast buffet. Will recommend it to our friends and family!

Only thing that they should improve is the matter that you need to pay quite a bit for wifi in the rooms. If i was traveling for business I would not like that at all but as we were there for holidays, no problem, however that should be changed it is not very 2014!

We arrived early at the hotel but they had no problems accomodating us. The rooms were luxurious with coffee machines and nice bathroom. When we visited the lounge it had an amazing view over the modern trainstation.

The hotel is very modern inside and the restaurant is fantastic. The breakfast was also very good. The main attraction of this hotel is how convenient it is. Right next to the train station (Central station) and also right next to a huge tram station. Rotterdam is a lovely city and this hotel gives you complete access to it by walking. It takes 5 minutes to reach the shopping district and 10-15 minutes to reach museums. Take a tram and its even less time.

stayed here for 3 nights and booked 3 rooms for our europe trip. location is just across the central station and city center is very close to the hotel.
however, the service is awful. by awful i meant stating it was very bad would be a complimentary.
here are why:
- for our entire trip (and all of the 3 rooms we stayed), bedsheets were never changed, minibar never re-stock, even the coffee mugs and glasses never been replace or washed.
- we came in to check-in, we were bringing 5 big luggages and 2 strollers, and the concierge were practically stand there and watched us.
- when we checked out, we have to borrow the luggage trolley to our room by ourself, and when we exited the hotel, the "concierge" wont even let us to use the side door for easier access.

room: good size for europe standard. one of the room's aircon doesnt even work.
staff: most of them just chatting or standing.
food: didnt try any of the food from the restaurant. however 2 cups of coffees cost 9.85euro (which is still acceptable for a 5 stars price)
location: across central station

in conclusion, we really regret that we chose this hotel over another 5 stars hotel.

Room Tip: not recommended

Just a minute's walk from the Centraal Station and the drop-off point for the airport bus. An imposing building with good views over the city. We had a Superior Room (their bottom grade I think) and it was huge. Good quality fittings throughout and a very nice bathroom too. We had breakfast in our package and that was very good too - wide choice of continental and English breakfast foods. Decor wise, it's mostly top notch except for the corridors, which are painted dark purple for reasons I cannot begin to imagine. It makes the corridors extremely dark and oppressive. It was a little noisy at some points because it's right next to the tram lines, but you can't be central and quiet can you?! But overall, this is a hotel we'd definitely stay at again if we came to Rotterdam again.
