I visited the museum on a Wednesday afternoon. The museum was quiet and not crowded at all. I was able to see all the displays easily. The arrangement of the museum is easy to follow and allows guests to move at their own pace.

While many of the displays are visually beautiful, it was challenging for me as an English speaker. Some of the displays have both Dutch and English but I did notice that sometimes there were two paragraphs in Dutch and only one simple sentence in English. None of the audios are in English and as far as I could tell, an English alternative was not offered.

The museum cafe which is open from 1200-1600 offers a nice seating area and lunch menu.

This museum is part of the museums you can get at a discount with a "Welcome Card". You get 25% off the ticket price so it only cost 5.60.

Just a selection of old boats, staff are really boring and their stories go on and on. Don't seem to notice that you really want to go on with your visit. Don't go here unless you really really want to.

The museum has a great film showing the history of local industry and the docks. It covers a huge amount through the ages, and is very interactive. You can walk into a 1930s cruise ship cabin, and various others from different decades. Great for kids.

With Rotterdam being so famous for its ship industry we were looking forward to this museum. There is not much to see and apart from the interactive area on level one you don't get much information. The interactive area was hard to grasp and I got bored after a little while.

I guess for kids it is a nice place to go as there were some activities going on that looked like fun.

We cannot recommend this place to adults. Safe your money and visit some of the other sites in Rotterdam.

I was disappointed with this museum. The quality of the exhibitions are very mixed and are more orientated towards families and children.
