We stayed at the main port roughly two weeks after the opening in mid of May and reserved a wonderful waterfront spa suite with an oversized jacuzzi and private sauna. The hotel is located at the oldest inner Barbour of Rotterdam and the perfect spot to start exploring the city. All the staff was very attentive and helpful and gave us the feeling of being home. There were some small things we didn't liked during our stay. 1. The breakfast is priced with 28€ per person, which is quite a normal price for a 5-star hotel, but not suitable for the Buffett offer and service they provided. Normally I expected to get coffee and other beverages served, but you have to get everything on your own from a simple coffee machine - that is not 5-star!!! Further in the room we asked via a provided small sign to have our linen changed after the first night, but they didn't!

All in all the hotel is a lovely retreat for everyone who would like to spend a nice and relaxing weekend in Rotterdam. We will definitely return to the Main Port for our next stay.

Room Tip: 762 - Waterfront Spa Suite with private Sauna and oversized jacuzzi

Stayed here in the first week and have to agree with the other reviews. The room, design and location are great. There are still a few things they need to work out because its a brand new hotel (safe, staff that doesn't know all the details yet) but I'm sure this is going to be the best hotel of Rotterdam.

+ Loved the XL bed, Illy coffee maker, jacuzzi and the layout of the room. The proximity of the public transport.

- The sauna had a weird smell (new?) and the staff sometimes looked like they were lost but they were very friendly. No onside parking, €27 and a 5 min walk.

Chic designer hotel only opened 2 weeks ago.the views are fabulous right across the river,I recommend the riverside suites, ours had a sauna and jacuzzi which was a lovely surprise. Unfortunately the pool and new spa complex are still being renovated but the gym and chill out area with sauna and steam room are the perfect felt place to relax after a day sightseeing and the hammam was stunning. Staff were really attentive and the breakfasts were delicious!

Room Tip: Riverside suite with jacuzzi and sauna

I stayed at the Mainport Hotel for 5 nights and really enjoyed my stay. I was there during their soft opening, but despite the large # of guests that were there for a conference, I thought the staff handled things very well. Each floor represents a different continent so if you have a preference ask for this when you book your stay.

I had a corner room overlooking the harbour which was beautiful. The built in TV into the bathroom mirror was also a nice touch as was the HUGE jacuzzi tub. My room didn't have an in-room sauna, but many of them did.

The Mainport is also directly located on the tram and subway lines, making it very easy to get around.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the harbor.

Spent 3 days here for an event. Luxury rooms, some with their own sauna. Easy accessible by car and public transportation. Great view over Rotterdam. All refurbished hotel so expect some hickups. But service is excellent. Friendly and flexible staff.

We booked a room at the brand new Mainport hotel for our 20th anniversary. For this special occasion we booked a waterfront spa room, with a big jacuzzi in the room. We arrived at the hotel around 2 pm but the room wasn't cleaned up yet. Normal as check in time is 3 pm. We came back at 6 pm and were told that we couldn't have the requested room. There were technical problems with some of the jacuzzi's. We had the impression that there was overbooking on the waterfront spa rooms. The staff wasn't very clear about the kind of technical problems. We finally were downgraded to another type of room. After some discussion they accepted to pay back the difference between the price of the rooms (!) and we were offered free breakfast. Mainport is nice and comfortable hotel, but overbooking is unacceptable. We left disappointed!

Room Tip: Check in on time and be sure that the requested room is available. If not choose another hotel!

I would have given this hotel 5 stars but have marked it down slightly because there are a number of issues they are still working through in the first weeks of its opening. I imagine when they fix these the hotel will be very good. I checked into the hotel on its second day of operation and the room I stayed in had never been slept in before. But consequently, not everything in the room and the hotel was working or installed.

The room i stayed in had a jacuzzi, a small sauna, a rain shower, a TV in the bathroom, a very nice view of the canal and a very comfortable bed.

The room did not as yet have a safe installed and the sauna did not work properly. The shower drained directly into the corridor, which was a pain. The TV was one of the smallest I have seen in a long time. While I did not check into the hotel to watch TV it was certainly not 5 star standard. The room would have benefited from a bin under the desk and something to put your suitcase on.

The service in the hotel was excellent in all respects. The front counter and the concierge were particularly good.

The Leuvehaven Metro station is right out the front door of the hotel, which is very convenient. The centre of Rotterdam is about 20 minutes walk away and there are many good restaurants within 15 minutes walk.

The breakfast in the restaurant was good quality with a reasonable amount of choices on offer.

This hotel is certainly a very good option and worth considering.
